Cleaning out the TBR closet 2023 challenge
Duration: 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023

Despite reading 72 books from my TBR and deleting 194, my TBR list still increased last year. But at least I got older books read/removed.
I'm starting the year with 1,073 books on my TBR and I'm setting an initial goal of 50.
I intend to get around 20 of the books I added in 2012 completed as well as all the books from 2015. Other than that, I will just see how it goes.

I also found a series called Zombie Fallout on Audible Plus so I'm going to try and read the first book this round as well. Oooh, I've been wanting to read Pet Sematary. I have an audible credit so I might use that for it and then listen to it while I travel. I'll have a better look later after I've had a sleep and can think better.

I will try find a zombie book to read/listen to when I'm travelling. Should make my flights interesting, haha

It's not looking like I will finish any more this round. I'm going to be sleeping from now until the round ends. I should be able to get more read next round as I'm working tonight but that's it. I'm flying to Norway on Thursday to spend Christmas with my boyfriend and his family. That will be a whole day of travelling so I should get some decent reading done then. I should actually have some free time in the coming weeks which will be very nice!

Is it sad that I've already planned what I'm going to try and read for this challenge for next year?
I had a look at my TBR and there are only 29 books left I added in 2015, so I'm thinking of getting those either read or deleted next year.
I still have around 80 books from 2012 on my list but about 90% of those are classics. And I'm learning I dont really like many of the classics. But I will plough through them steadily. I will probably aim to get around 20 of those read/deleted.
I don't even want to know how many I added this year...

I ended up calling in sick to work yesterday too, but actually made it to work today.
I can't tell you what I did all day yesterday, but it wasn't reading.
My work colleague has been very nice to me and is letting me take it easy so I have been able to get some reading done. I've got two books on the go now, both contemporary and one is teal too. I will definitely finish both of them, but it depends on how the rest of my week goes if I get any others done as well.

too blue?

Can I say I was really hoping we wouldn't get teal as a colour as I find it really difficult to work out if covers are teal or green or blue.

Oh, really? Okay, I'll read the second one and look for some contemporary books. Actually, I might still read the first as it will give us an O which we will need plenty of.

The two books I'm thinking of reading for next round are
which I believe is teal. Annoyingly, my library app has it listed as comtemporary, but is isn't on here so it would only be used for the colour if we agree it is teal.

The other is
which may be too blue. Again, my library app has it listed as contempary but it's not on here.

If we agree at least one of those is teal, I'll read that and I'll have another look tomorrow for contemporary books when I have a bit more time. Also, I am working every day this coming week apart from Thursday (don't ask how that happened). I should be able to get some reading done at work, but I am still suffering pretty bad with this cold so I may end up just feeling sorry for myself in a corner somewhere, haha. I'll try and get at least 3 books done, but I can't promise anything.

I also found one book that is definitely teal and contemporary and one that is contemporary but may be too blue to be considered teal. I have sooo many contemporary books so as long as time allows it, I can get a couple done next week.
