And thank you both, I'm sure I'll get settled soon.
I'm really struggling with one of my books. Bed and Breakfast and Murder just isn't holding my attention well, but I've already used words from it. I'll keep powering through. Hopefully the story will pick up soon. I would like to be done with it by the end of the weekend so I can start something more exciting. It's currently my book I read before bed and it is doing a very good job of sending me to sleep!

I'm probably just going to listen to audiobooks while I do stuff. I'm going to finish the book The Housemaid today. I had less than an hour left when I stopped before sleep. After, I'm probably going to stick to books that I could potentially finish in a day (but are more than 300 pages). I've got a few murder mystery books lined up which seem to be good for food items as they seem to mostly be set in cafes or restaurants or by the sea.
I signed up for wheel so I'm holding off on any books that are long so I can read them then and get decent points :p
Oh no, I hope you feel better soon! I felt unwell after one of mine and it wasn't fun. Just take it easy and try and get as much sleep/rest as you can.

It hasn't been confirmed yet because one of my colleagues had a pretty last minute change of plans, but my next shift is supposed to be Friday night which will give me plenty of time in the week to catch up on some reading.

I haven't read much the past few days, honestly I don't know where the time has gone. I doubt I will get much done the next 2 days either with me starting this new job tonight, but afterwards I should be able to get back on it.

I forgot about those extra words, so thank you Heather.

By the way, do we know our placement for round two yet? I looked but I cannot find that information, maybe I am just missing it."
There's a link to the status spreadsheet in the second message on this thread. We are currently sitting at 8th out of 14, but it looks like there are two teams that are no longer playing.

I'm only contracted 2 nights a week at the moment. They hinted that they might add more when I get more comfortable. But I did also say I would like as much extra as they can give me, so I will probably end up doing a mixture of night and day shifts. My contract states that they have to give me at least 11 hours between shifts so I will at least be able to get some sleep between shifts.

I went into my new workplace today. The idea was that I would get a bit of the online training done, but of course it wasn't working. I did find out when my first start days will be though. Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th. So I've got two days to prepare myself for night shifts... I can tell I am going to be exhausted as I'm still very much on the opposite sleep pattern from what I need. I'll manage though.
It's looking like lots of daytime naps are in my immediate future :p

We came close to doubling our points from last round! We are also sitting at 7th out of 14, but some teams won't have finished assigning their meals yet. We won't be winning this game, but I have been enjoying it and as I said before, I am proud of what we have managed.

I started the year with 1,012 and I am currently sitting on 1,045. And that is after reading 67 from my TBR AND deleting close to 200 book. So it looks like I added almost 300 books this year... I've got plenty to tackle next year.

I assigned the meals, but I'm waiting for the question to be answered about what we do with the bonuses. I'm going to have to sleep soon so if the answer doesn't come before I do, feel free to do whatever is required. I'm going to be out most of tomorrow so I won't be around to do anything with the spreadsheet until early evening.
I also made a few meals for round 3. I have a book I started, but put on hold to read the BOMs. I should be able to get more read in November as things have calmed down for me.

I did the swap as books need at least one letter/word used in order to get the book points. There was an S character I hadn't used so I added an S on one of the meals which means Ulysses is still all used up.

16. We finally find Vince. Was this strand satisfactory to you? If not, why?
I'm not sure I would say satisfactory in a sense. I wanted more for Vince.
17. The big reveal of the dastardly murderer and their motive! Did you enjoy the action packed conclusion?
It seemed rushed.
18. The epilogue, one year later, shines some light on the fates of our characters. Did you like this way of wrapping up the story?
I still have some questions, but most things were answered.

Just one thing, I noticed meal 148 is missing TEA. The conditions of having a meal of tea is that is must contain Water and Tea.

13. This is my first read by author Alex Finlay and I'm enjoying the writing style and story a lot. Got me thinking is "Alex", a male or female writer? I guessed male and via the blurb this was correct. Does the writing style have a more masculine leaning or do you think it's genderless?
I don't really read much into writing styles.
14. Clare pulls Chris up about a conflict of interest being on the defense team which really seems like a no brainer! Thinking back on what we know about their relationship do you think they will stay together or are they on a one way ticket to Splitsville?
I'm not sure they will survive this. Too much tension has been put on their relationship over a short period of time.
15. Why do you think the author wrote Special Agent Keller as hugely pregnant with twins? Does it make a difference about how you view her as a character and her actions as a FBI agent?
I guess I hadn't really thought about it. But if I was pregnant, I don't think I would be doing field work where anything can go wrong in a split second. Especially at 8 months.
16. Big revelations by the end of this section.. Jesse is the secret child of Katie one of the victims of the first crime and Joe Arpeggio has covered up evidence. Do these startling facts bring you any closer to guessing Whodunnit?
I'm still not sure who did it, but it is very suspicious that offical people working on the case covered things up.
