It's those funny, sweet moments that give hope for the future. IMHO. ;-)

Thank you, Karen.

The idea for this story (well, part of it) came from the fight to recover the Quedlingburg treasures. Which is so fascinating--and if you get the chance to see the documentary The Liberators, I highly recommend it.

And part of it came from--of all things--that Tamara Hall show where she investigates mostly small town murders. I forget what it's called! But it was one of the most chilling cases because the murderer for once really was the last person anyone expected. And even watching it, I kept thinking...wait, there must be another twist. That can't be right?! :-D

34844 I think Rachel mentioned Smashword's huge, huge summer sale.

Nearly all my books are 50% off right now.

34844 1 - Sum-sum-summertime

2 - The nieces and nephews downstairs giggling in the family room. Yes, they're grown up now (sort of) but they still sound like little kids from upstairs. ;-)

3 - Night swimming -- the twinkly lights, the gorgeous flower fragrance

4 - Writing. Every project this year has been a labor of love. :-)

5 - Grilled salmon (probably my favorite summer meal)

I'm not sure. My brain is very "buzzy" lately--it's hard to turn off at night--and also I notice more and more what I eat affects my sleep. Carbs and refined sugar make me restless.

34844 The best thing about today is starting a new chapter.

Literally.

I'm back to work on Mainly by Moonlight.

Yes. There's a limited amount of "insisting" you can do with an Aged P.

34844 Actually, I was reading books on the shelves of our library that I set aside many moons ago to read... It was both exciting and sad that I still have so much to read.

34844 1 - Marlowe the Mutt has gone back to wanting to share my chair while I'm working. He did that when he was a little puppy--he's still quite small, but not THAT small--and he's back to needing to be right there beside me. Draped over the back of my chair is no longer close enough. HE'S JUST LIKE HIS DADDY.

2 - Dinner tonight at the Yard House with my sister and her husband. Really looking forward to it--we've been trying to get together for dinner since February!

3 - Pain killers and braces. I couldn't have finished TMMM without them. My wrists are -- ugh! -- thrashed right now.

4 - Mainly by Moonlight. Can't wait to dive back in. I love this story and this world so much.

5 - Kamala Harris

I was ambitious at one time, but that all that seems to have faded with other trivial pursuits. I consciously want to be happy. I consciously want to do good work--both professionally and personally.
