I really liked it. I didn't hate any of the characters, which is kind of unusual. It's been a looong time since I read the first in the series, so I didn't recognize anyone except Jaz and Vayl (nor can I remember if I even liked the first book). Loving the chemistry between those two though. I like that Jaz is kick-butt, but also not invurnerable like so many heroines out there. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

ETA: This is for the Assassins shelf. I'll pick a free space book later. Maybe not till next week, because I've got soooooo much to do over the next few days.

Zen Ten works for me.
I've been captain before, but I'm going to be moving this month and I'm not sure how long I'll be without internet. I can still check in and and write reviews on my phone, but "captain-ing" will be too difficult to do on my phone.

Well, Vane is smoking hot. Most of Sherrilyn Kenyon's heroes are though. What a great storyline though. I enjoyed the foray into the Were-hunter world as well as making our way back to New Orleans with the majority of the characters from previous and future books (as opposed to Dance with the Devil and Kiss of the Night taking place in Alaska and Minnesota respectively). I liked the plot of this one more than Kiss of the Night, with Vane, Fang, and Fury's backgrounds. It was also funnier. I kept getting Fang and Fury mixed up though. Not the characters but their names; wish Kenyon had picked names with more difference. This was possibly exacerbated by a few occasions of poor editing actually mixing up their names. I liked Fury a lot; he would make an interesting character in his own book (does he have one yet?).
Bride was nothing special as a heroine. I only finished the book a few hours ago and couldn't tell you much about her personality. I don't blame her for being suspicious of Vane's motives. See spoiler that probably makes me a terrible person. (view spoiler)
Ready for the next book in the series with Valerius and Tabitha. I'm not a Tabitha fan so far, but I find Valerius intriguing.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I'll say this about Sherry Thomas. She writes a great book. Her debut novel was no exception. I was worried at first that I wasn't going to like the H and h (Camden and Gigi). The book was about 1/3 flashbacks to when they met and in those, Gigi was kind of a snob, a funny and sarcastic snob, but still a snob. She grew out of that luckily. And Camden at the beginning during the current timeline was mean mean mean to Gigi. I'll be frank, IMO he was meaner and more vengeful than was called for by the circumstances. But overall I really enjoyed it, even as they were breaking my heart. They were clearly madly in love with each other, but neither realized it. So both were putting up walls and acting as though they didn't care.
My favorite Sherry Thomas book is His at Night, but this runs a close second.

I liked it a lot, which surprised me because i don't remember liking a different book by the same author all that much. Nicely suspenseful. Not too terribly cliche. Characters weren't super annoying although the heroine came awfully close. There were too many characters I thought. I had trouble keeping track of them at first. The ending seemed kinda cliffhanger-y or at least it seemed to me to be setting up for a sequel, but near as I can tell the author hasn't written anything since then (this was written in 2008). Not sure if she quit the writing business or maybe she passed away. Her website hasn't been updated since 2008, so I'm not sure. The formatting on my kindle was terrible. I'm not counting off a star for that but it did detract from my reading experience.
Sorry for the lack of detail and if this post looks funny it's cuz I'm writing this on my phone from the road.
