That's the way I am. I read book 1 and have no intention of reading any more. Right now at least. Admittedly I read City of Bones right after I finished the Hunger Games trilogy so that "let down" factor could be an issue.

I enjoy Lynsay's Sands Argeneau books. They are easy to read, cute, and funny. This one was no exception. I like Lucern a lot. He's cranky and all but I still think he's pretty hot (and underneath the cranky is a sweetheart). Kate was vaguely annoying and some of the story lines bordered on too ridiculous so that's why this is not a 5 star read for me. I have actually read the two books before this one and several after this one, but for some reason skipped this one (probably the library never had it) and I'm glad I went back. It's probably gonna be one of my favorites in the series.
ETA: Oh yeah, there was a whole scene where they robbed a blood bank and Lucern glamored the blood bank tech into deleting the blood they stole from the system. Excuse me, I work in a blood bank and that just ain't happening. Even if there was a way to do that, the average tech isn't going to have any clue how to do it. I'm nit-picky about lab stuff since that's what I do. LOL

Favorite Author shelf (I think)

I love these books. They are fun and kind of different from the usual, with a less common setting (Victorian England). Alexia is a lot like me I think (ok, a bit more fearless than I am and more prone to trouble). That's probably why I like her. Baby Prudence is a precocious cutie and Lord Maccon is a sexy werewolf. There were a couple of surprises at the end (view spoiler) , although I kind of suspected one of them was coming (view spoiler) . I am sad the series is over, but it was well wrapped up and I am looking forward to the new series which apparently is based on Prudence all grown up(???).["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I am not getting notifications for any threads. So obnoxious.

I enjoyed it, as per usual with the Sookie Stackhouse books. I still love Eric (ok, ok, I mostly think he's HAWT), but am more convinced than ever that if Sookie ends up with anyone, it's gonna be Sam (whom I also adore). Not sure why I think this, I just do. There was a surprise bad guy in this book, although it wasn't as much of a "big bad" as there usually is (IMO). It seems pretty clear that Charlaine Harris is wrapping up the series, giving minor characters from across the entire series their happy endings (Jason, Tara, Hoyt, Kennedy, etc.) I'm eager to see how she ends it all.
Now, I'm off to finish my favorite author book. I'm already off to a good start.

Best book of the series so far if you ask me. The first two I had trouble getting into the story and my dislike for the characters kind of bogged me down a bit. This one had a much more interesting storyline right from the start so the character blah-ness was less of a problem. Faythe has tendencies towards being TSTL in all the books so far, including this one. It is one of the reasons I don't much care for her. There was an interesting plot twist that I didn't really see coming: (view spoiler) . I'm eager to start the next book and continue with the series.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Oh yay! Glad to hear this.
Regarding Divergent, I've

Lili, keep on getting better!
And now for a review.

Just like the first book in the series, I couldn't decide for a long time into the book whether I liked it or not. I still don't know if I like the characters all that much. Certainly none would rank on my list of favorite supernatural characters. I do enjoy the story though, even though, like Faythe, I get aggravated at the out-dated attitudes towards women (or rather, the female werecats). Anyway, my instinct was to give it 4 stars so 4 stars it is. I think it is because Rachel Vincent must do a good ending that leaves me more satisfied than I am in the middle of the book. LOL
I'll be reading the next book,

I'm following you now. :-)
