33903 Finished Entice (Need, #3) by Carrie Jones for the YA Paranormal shelf earlier today (06/21/12). I think I'll go ahead and give it ★★★★. I found the constantly teenager girl squealing and squeeing annoying. I don't remember that from the first two books in the series, but it has been at least a year since I've read them. That was another problem I had. It had been long enough since I read the previous book in the series that I had trouble remember who was who and what was what. I picked up enough to get me through the book without too much aggravation. I thought the main character was monumentally selfish ((view spoiler), so that spoiled the book a little for me. Otherwise very enjoyable and I went ahead and bought the next book in the series for my Kindle when I realized it was on sale for $1.99.

33903 Got everything to here. I'm just about done with Entice. I'll probably finish it tonight or tomorrow. Depends on how slow it is at work tonight. I think I'm going to love this new night shift job. Once I know what I'm doing and I'm faster at it all, I'll have a ton of time to read. :-) On the other hand I'm having trouble adjusting to having to sleep during the day.

33903 We've actually discussed the zombie apocalypse in great detail here at work (probably because several of us watch The Walking Dead religiously). One of my co-workers has a lot of guns, so he's agreed to let several of us camp out with him. I made him promise to kill me if I become zombie-fied. LOL

Glad to hear that. LOL, I hate buying a whole anthology for only one story.

33903 I have Cry Wolf on my TBR mountain. Sounds like I'll need to add On the Prowl to the pile too. Grr! I also find it very annoying when authors put a prequel in a random anthology. I'm not a fan of anthologies so I don't usually bother, except in cases like this when I'm forced to.

Meanwhile I have everyone's books and review to here. And I just started my book. It shouldn't take me more than a day or two to finish it. Don't worry Dawn. With me around you won't be the slacker. I read fast, but I don't have time to sit and read much so it takes me awhile to get through things. Especially lately when I've been in such a slump.

33903 Got your review on our master list Deborah. Good for you for reading so fast. I haven't even started my book yet. *hanging my head in shame* It's on my kindle and the battery is dead so I need to charge it up. I'll get around to it. LOL

33903 Team 16's card is good. :-)

33903 For the YA Paranormal shelf I'm going to read Entice (Need, #3) by Carrie Jones .

For the free space I think I'll read Death Masks (The Dresden Files, #5) by Jim Butcher , but I reserve the right to change my mind later. LOL

33903 Yay! A shelf! I'm going to format my posts on the front page now to serve as our overall reference for what's what. Then I'll decide on a book to read.

ETA: Alright, Post #42 will be where we can keep track of what we are each reading for each shelf so please let me know if I ever get the wrong book somewhere or if you change your book and I don't fix it within a day or so. :-)

33903 Aww. I've been missed. :-) It actually did occur to me that I'd be awake at the same time as the Mods. LOL
Jun 15, 2012 04:21PM

33903 Hello team! I'm from Arkansas in the US and I'm addicted to books. This is my 3rd round of Bingo. I can tell ya now that I'm not particularly chatty. I don't know why. LOL I just hardly ever have anything that I think is interesting to say. This is exactly the way I am NOT in real life. LOL

I also don't have any opinions about the team name; whatever y'all want is fine with me. I can be a tie-breaker if you need me to be.

If no one else wants to be captain, I'll do it, but I'll warn you ahead of time that on Monday I'll be starting a night shift job, so I'll be on the opposite schedule of everyone else (at least from what I can tell, 1 from Colorado and 2 from Canada so far, looks like?). So I may be slower to reply to any posts made during the day while I'm sleeping. :-)

33903 I want in! I missed the last round of sign-ups, but that turned out to be ok, cuz I've been in a major major slump for months. But I've started to come out of the slump and this will give me a reason to read. LOL.

33903 Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) by Richelle Mead (10/24/11) 4 1/2 stars

I actually liked this one better than the previous book in the series. I'm curious about where the series is going. Loved meeting Dmitri's family. The whole Dmitri situation was depressing; liking Adrian more and more with each book. I found Lissa's story more interesting than Rose's for the most part. (view spoiler)

I checked on the other team's thread and they only have one book left. Actually, that was several hours ago too so they may have already finished. It's been fun either way!

ETA: Yup. They are done. Bummer. Good try y'all! :-)
Oct 23, 2011 08:36AM

33903 I'm gonna read Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) by Richelle Mead . I think it'll be a quick read even at >500 pages. I flipped it open and the font is huge with large margins, etc. LOL
Oct 16, 2011 10:17PM

33903 I guess I'll read Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick . I'm not gonna rush though since it is not important strategically. LOL

33903 What A Dragon Should Know (Dragon Kin, #3) by G.A. Aiken (10/15/11) 5 stars

Loved it! I was laughing out loud while reading it in the cafeteria at work. I'm sure people thought I was nuts. Gwenvael was hilariously arrogant and dramatic. I liked Dagmar. I liked seeing all the previous characters, (view spoiler). I enjoyed the new characters, the cousins, Ragnar the lightning dragon (and the hero of the next book). The only complaint I have is that it kinda started dragging at the end with a lot of scenes I felt were unnecessary and there only to make the book longer. But I'm not counting off for that because I enjoyed everything else too much.

Bring on the next category. I'm ready to go! LOL
Oct 12, 2011 11:56PM

33903 I finished Demons Not Included (Night Tracker, #1) by Cheyenne McCray on 10/12. I marked it with 3 stars, but that's a round up from 2 1/2 stars. It was a good plot done poorly, with characters that should have been more interesting. Stylistically it was just awkward. A couple of reviews mention this, but the main character kept referring to her phone as an xPhone. Never just a phone, but an xPhone. Ok, I have an iPhone, but I just call it a phone or a cell. Weird. Also, who brings a $1,000 Dolce and Gabanna purse to a murder scene? (The heroine, that's who!) Constant references to her business partners "melon-sized" breasts. I dunno about y'all, but I don't tend to pay much attention to my friends breasts. Characters were kinda one-dimensional. Conversations were stilted and poorly done. This is a pet peeve of mine. I like conversations in books to be natural and sound like what people really would say. Some authors don't do this well. I have several Cheyenne McCray books (from different series) so I'm hoping this isn't the case for her. Anyway, all that to say, it was ok, but it could have been better. Much, much better. I am disappointed too, because, like I said, the plot was really interesting. I may or may not continue with the series.

I picked What A Dragon Should Know (Dragon Kin, #3) by G.A. Aiken for my dragon book. A bold move because it's a long one . I am gonna try to finish it before the next shelf announcement so I can be ready in case one of the shelves we need to win gets picked.
Oct 10, 2011 01:01PM

33903 Ok, finished The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, #3) by Dan Brown yesterday (10/09/11). I'm giving it 3 stars.

I enjoyed it, but it dragged badly in places. I enjoyed Dan Brown's other books better although I seem to remember similar dragging in Angels and Demons. I think I am just not all that interested in Masonic conspiracies. LOL It seemed that the revealed secrets of Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code were a bit more shocking. The Lost Symbol was more like, "That's it?"

I'm about halfway through Demons Not Included (urban fantasy). I can't decide on a dragon book. I have several to choose from. I think it will boil down to my mood when I'm ready to start it, which will hopefully be sometime tomorrow or Wednesday. I suspect it will boil down to a reread of Eragon (Inheritance, #1) by Christopher Paolini (since it's been ages and ages since I've read it), Eldest (Inheritance, #2) by Christopher Paolini , or What A Dragon Should Know (Dragon Kin, #3) by G.A. Aiken .
