The mad man only slowed a little and then held the needle very close to Driden, "And why would I care, little subject?"
Driden tried not to flinch, "You said you wanted someone with powers. I can tell you where one is, and he doesn't have restrictions."
He paused thoughtful, "And what would you want in return?
Driden was firm, "My freedom."
"Tell me more."
Driden continued on, not hesitating, "His name is Ethan. In fact he is the new inheritor of your stone. He's in the valley where you took me."
The man stopped cautious, "Powers?"
Driden spoke, "Mind Reading."
The madman rose chuckling again. "That'll be much more interesting but unfortunately for you I have specific orders to kill you."
He paused and turned to the door, "but that can wait until I find that interesting new subject." he cackled.
Driden wasn't surprised. He'd known that the madman would never let him go but this way, this way he'd bought himself some time.

Then everything went black. . .
((Be back in one second.))

That when they were attacked. An arrow flew and hit each of them with such force that Gabriel spun to the ground and Derey was knocked back into the tree. As soon as the arrow hit her Derey felt a drowsiness take hold of her and her body went completely numb. It was strange, the sensation felt almost familiar.

The madman had started muttering and looking at some devices on his desk after that. Then he turned around a scary look on his face, "I'll teach you to respect me boy."
As he moved towards Driden Driden spoke, "Don't be so drastic. I have a proposition to make."

Gabriel shook his head, "I don't know the area period."

Naomi woke up slowly with a feeling of loss in her mind. Just who was she? Why was she here? What was the point? Where were the dancers? That question kept ringing through her mind. Where were the dancers? When she saw Belenos' face something zapped inside of her and she knew everything. A part of her felt ill. The inheritor of the Pearl stone had joined with Belenos? Leila's successor? She was angry now, very angry. How dare they disgrace Leila's name.

"Your guess is as good as mine. They could be anywhere. If only we had someone who knew these mountains. Then, at least there might be a chance."

Gabriel was apprehensive. Just what did he need to distract us from? They'd lost time. Pretty soon there wouldn't be any left. This was bad.

Driden went on, unfazed, "You're lying." He said simply. "This isn't the cabin in the valley."
Isiicar chuckled again, starting to enjoy himself, "Why do you think that boy?"
Driden spoke again, "Because you're afraid of him. You cower in fear of him. He'd kill you if he knew you'd done something like take me back to such a dangerous place as that and you know it. I heard your conversation with that man." he said simply.
Isiicar twitched at the words afraid and cower, "You little brat." he whispered.

Gabriel panted as he reached her, "It was all a ruse. They're not here. It was a distraction!"

Driden looked calmly at the man. One to always get to the point he said, "Where am I and why am I here?" the man chuckled, "So polite. I guess I'll answer your questions. We're back at your cabin in your little valley. After all, this is the only descent living space in the these range of mountains, and I wouldn't want our little stay to be uncomfortable would I?" he chuckled again, "You should have seen the faces of those two fools. They were led on by my act hook and sinker. They've already spent hours searching that stupid mountain range while all along you've been here." He smiled again, "Well now that that bit of fun is over with let the real fun begin. You wanted to know why you're here don't you?" he cackled his insane laugh this time. "I just need a little test subject to make sure I'm not bored until I leave to return to Myst, frankly I would have preferred the other one who had such interesting powers, but unfortunately she is to be left to the bigger dogs but you on the other hand aren't insured. Especially since there is someone out there who thinks you can cause problems and aren't worth keeping." he smiled and gave a little hysterical laugh, "That's why I get you."

Then Derey saw Gabriel running full speed at her.

Running as fast as he could Gabriel made his way back. They'd been tricked he was sure of that. There was no way that a coincidence like this could happen. Isiicar had set this up as a distraction to give himself more time. What about the man he'd seen Gabriel thought. Isiicar must have been here before. I must have seen him leave.

((K.))
Almost completely silent as he walked farther into the cold dark cave, following the light Gabriel was so intent that it seemed nothing could stop him. The light went out but not for a moment did Gabriel hesitate. The only sound that could be heard other than Gabriel's footsteps was the drip of water throughout the cave.
Driden pulled against the restraints with little effect. He could see clearly now, and what he saw was not pleasant. He was in a small foul smelling room with rotting wood walls, but that wasn't what shocked him. In a corner of the room was a woman lying on the floor. Her hair was completely white and all the life seemed to have been sucked out of her. In a word she looked like. . .a mummy. He shivered, he had to get out of here. He looked to where he was. He was on a metal desk, only four of the restraints were in use but there were more lying off the sides. In the front of him was a desk of various potions and other instruments. What caught his eye was what leaned against the desk. It was his sword, Blue Lighting as he'd named it. He smiled, whoever had kidnapped him had made a mistake, and a stupid one at that. Once he had that sword nothing was going to stop him.
Gabriel heard a shriek and rushed faster into the deeper ends of the cave not hesitating. He got to the room where the noises sounded. Throwing an ancient door open he entered and stopped abruptly gaping at what he saw. Inside was a cave full of light up shrieking gecko's. Gecko's known in this land to light up brightly at night during their mating seasons and to shriek terrifyingly with their mating calls.
Driden had managed to get the table to fall over on it's side. He was still strapped down but gradually he was starting to make his way over to the desk. There was a creak and he looked up into the eyes of a very insane man, "Shoot." he said.

((Shouldn't she wait for him to draw the other guy out before she goes in?))

Gabriel held her close and squeezed tight. "You too. Remember, no matter what don't go south." Then he let go and turned away quickly, moving up the slope, a determined look on his face.

Gabriel shook his head violently, "I know you can be strong Derey but you just don't have enough experience. Any attempt like that would be fatal. I'll provide the distraction to draw away Isiicar. When things are clear get in there and get your friend. . .and Derey leave as soon as you get him. This place is no longer safe and there's a chance I may be occupied with loosing him for some time. When you find your friend, go north towards Dyie Valley, and remain northward, Derey, South has dangers you have no need to face. I will rejoin you at Gelidus creek, in Dyie Valley if I'm unable to catch up with you."

Gabriel moved closer eyeing the cave, "Against someone with moving powers who is as fast as he is. . .we'll need a good plan."

Gabriel eyed the cave, "I don't know, but there's a good chance."

There was a small light coming from above them that Derey noticed as they got higher and higher from where they'd been. As they approached it Gabriel stopped and whispered to Derey, "I saw a man come out of there a few moments ago." he pointed to the entrance of a cave. A small blinking light shone from it, even now gradually growing dimmer.
