29443 Good question. Probably one of Anne Stuart's Irish heroes, like Killoran from To Love a Dark Lord.

It's funny, because she's not near my favorite anymore. But I love Mercy and Kate.

I wish that SK/KM would go back to writing historicals as well as her PNR. Those were great books. I read those before I ever picked up her PNR DarkHunters series.

29443 I will freely admit that Anita Blake is what got me started on my UF love. A classmate recommended the books to me and I was hooked. We parted ways when it became more about her harem, but I do have some fondness for the initial books in that series.

29443 I don't know what my damage is, but I just love assassins. Please explain to me why I can't get over them?

Does anyone else have a similar fixation?

In real life, I'm not a violent person at all!

29443 They have left their mark on the romance genre. Feel free to post your thoughts.

What are some books that wouldn't meet any strict classifications, but seem to have impacted the romance genre.

Please include a link and tell us why you listed them.

29443 @S, I know what you mean. I have nothing against a capable heroine, but I love when the hero still wants to protect her regardless.

I would say so for my own reasons, but would love to hear yours.

What's it about, April? What do you like about it.

29443 I just love Clayton Danvers. *sigh* :)

I'm glad. You're not alone. I didn't complete the World Tour last year by a long stretch!

Which book would you consider representative? Can you find his first cover book? Maybe we can nominate that.

I would nominate those myself.

I see your point about Fifty Shades of Grey as well. We don't know how enduring it will be, but it has definitely had a mark on the genre.

I see what you mean. I think that it would be going outside the genre too much to add Interview With the Vampire, since it's not a romance, but I can see why you suggested it.

Thanks! I agreed with the choice, but it's good to hear why you nominated it.
