29443 I'll start us off.

I had a few good candidates last month.

1. Jack Collins from Event. a)Bad*ss, saving the day. b) Doesn't give up. c) Willing to make sacrifices for others.

2. Venturo from Silver Shark. a) Goodhearted and kind, b)A dream boss. c)Devastatingly handsome

3. Tie between Reyes Farrow and Garrett Swopes from Second Grave on the Left. Reyes is super-duper hot and kind of sweet and lethal. Garrett is adorable. He's the kind of guy I could see myself falling for in real life.

February was a good hero reading month!

March DHASG Challenge

Introduction: Month three of the year is here! Let's ring in March with some reading challenge fun. Let's see what books fall in your basket or lie at the end of the rainbow for you.

Rules:

1. Any DHASG member may participate. You can join at any time during the month.
2. Books must be read between March 1st and March 31st.
3. A book may only be used once in the challenge.
4. Post Your Final Stats or Link to Your Completed Post.
5. Happy Reading!

Levels:

1. In Like A Lion, Out Like A Lamb: Read 9-11 books
2. Under the Rainbow: Read 5-8 books
3. A Few More Snow Days?: Read 3-4 books

Categories:

1.Stormy Month: The Anglo Saxons used to call March "Hraed monath" or Stormy Month. Read a book that features stormy weather--either literally or figurately. Or a cover that suggests stormy weather.

2.Old Stuff Day: March 2nd is a day to recognize routine, or tried and true, depending on your viewpoint. A few ways to meet this challenge goal: 1. Read a book that is an old favorite or was published at least ten years ago. 2. Read a brand smacking new book. 3. Read a book that has someone breaking out of an old routine. (Pick one and explain in parentheses).

3.Hug a GI Day: March 4th is to recognize and appreciate our military servicepeople. If you can't actually hug a GI in real life, you can read a book where someone does.

4.Middle Name Pride Day: March 10th is the day where you celebrate your seldom mentioned middle name. Read a book where you actually know the character's middle name, and/or it is a prominent aspect of the story. For example, the character goes by her middle name. Be creative.

5.Pi Day: March 14th is National Pi Day, standing for the concept of the number that never ends, rounded to 3.14. You can count any book you finish on 3/14, or a book that involves mathematics or science to a significant extent. If you can find a book with a name that is three words and fourteen letters, that would count too!

6.Everything Goes Wrong!: March 15th is more or less a bad luck day. Everything You Think is Wrong Day is the day when nothing seems to go right. For this challenge, find a character who lives this out in their story.

7.Mind Blown! March 15th is also Dumbstruck Day. Read a book that Blows Your Mind or leaves you Dumbstruck. Alternative, a book where the lead character's mind is blown and their perceptions about everything change.

8.Kiss Me, I'm Irish!: March is Irish American Heritage Month. This is a chance to celebrate Irish culture or heritage through a book you read this month.

9.Jewel Day: March 13th celebrates the giving or receiving of jewelry. If you can find a book with a jewel on the cover or named after a jewel, that would work just spiffy. Or if the author's name is a jewel, that would work. You could also use a book where jewelry is a plot point. Names of jewels:

10.Supreme Sacrifice Day: March 18th memorializes people who made incredible sacrifices for others. Will you read a book this month in which a character commits such an incredible act?

11.Pick One!: There are so many interesting days in March, it was hard to pick eleven, so here are a few more choices. Pick one to read for this challenge. Smoke and Mirrors (March 29th), National Joe Day (March 27th), National Doctor Day (March 30th), Ides of March (March 15th), Panic Day (March 9th). You can read up on the days through the link below, or just wing it.

29443 I think that Seth is keeping his profession secret in Behind Closed Doors. He's actually spying on Raine.

I still need to find a book to fit "Conversations Hearts" and "Love Your Pet" day. I'm having difficulties finding something. Any suggestions?"

You could find a book with Marry Me, Love You, Kiss Me, something like that in the title. Or even make up your own Conversation Heart.

As for love your pet, Watchers has a great dog character, Master of None, Suspect is definitely about the human/animal bond.

29443 Speaking of... This is Chet Faker. I'm pretty sucked into his music. He sings that song "Love and Feeling" on the Zales commercial.

29443 I'm really glad to hear your block is clearing up, Natalie. You know, it's interesting that when my father died, I read so many books in a short period, but with the emotional family stuff I went through this time recently, I couldn't read as much. I guess your brain knows what it needs to allow you to heal.
29443 I think Reyes from the Darynda Jones series definitely counts. First Grave on the Right

Love Born of Night! Great series all around.

That is an issue when your favorite author isn't prolific enough. I do like discovering new authors who are awesome in the interim though.

I like HMs a lot. Sometimes I do want to step away from overt romance for a bit. When I come back, I love it even more!
