Good question, Marta. The books chosen must represent the words solved for in the puzzle according to your own standards. In other words, it could be any of the above, or subject matter, or impressions you felt as you read the book. Does that make sense.

Yes, the number by the words hints are the number of letters in each word.

I can definitely see your point, Skye. I do love when the hero is really dark (although I shy away from sexual violence and BDSM) and his love for the heroine changes his heart.

DHASG Word Search 2015 Challenge

Duration: 1 January 2015- 31 December 2015

Introduction: When one thinks of dangerous heroes, certain words might come to mind. Let’s see if we can match books to the words you find in this puzzle.

Levels:

Level 1—Word Master: Read 30 or more books representing words from the word search puzzle
Level 2—Word Apprentice: Read 16-29 books representing words from the word search puzzle.
Level 3—Word Novice: Read 10-15 books representing words from the word search puzzle.

General Rules:

1. Any DHASG member can participate
2. Books read for this challenge can overlap with other challenges on the group.
3. One book per word used in the challenge.
4. Post your final stats on or after June 30th, 2015
5. Please do not reveal the puzzle answers on this thread. You may use the following thread to discuss the possible answers with other participants. Participants are welcome to collaborate on the challenge discussion thread. If you want to use this thread to keep your stats as you complete the challenge, please use spoiler tags. If puzzle answers are posted prematurely, they may be subject to deletion.

How to play this challenge

Stage 1: The member will solve the puzzle for words listed below, hangman style. There are 40 words in the puzzle. Please do not post your answers on the official challenge thread until December 31st or afterwards.

Stage 2: Once the member has finished solving the word search puzzle, they will read one book per term in the puzzle to reach the desired level in the challenge. The books are chosen by however you feel they meet the term, whether it's the title of the book, character names, subject matter, or impressions as you read the book. Have fun with it. It's up to you. You don't have to match up spellings or anything like that unless you choose to use the book title, which isn't required.

Stage 3: On December 31st, the challenge coordinator will post the key with the solutions to the puzzle.

Members are welcome to post their stats in the discussion thread to keep track, but please use spoiler tags if you want to post your stats on the official challenge board before December 31st, so that other members will not be spoiled for the answers to the quiz unwittingly.

To post a spoiler tag: Use (spoiler) and (/spoiler) before and after your stats, but substitute < and > for ( and ).
