Trends I Avoid:BDSM (I don't like inequality in relationships or the idea that pain/abuse/subjection/humiliation needs to be part of a relationship)
New Adult
Erotica
Menage/Multiple
Biker Club
Trends I Will Follow To The Ends...
Russian Hero
Antihero/assassin hero (not dark erotica or an abusive, sadist though)
Fairy Tale theme
I'm not especially attracted to the mobster hero theme. I do like Russian heroes, so I admit my interest perks if the hero is Russian Mafia (although in real life, that gets pretty dark).
I wonder why there's not more Yakuza stories?

What book trends/genres/sub-genres that are really popular right now are you avoiding?Which ones are you following to the very end?
Keep in mind, we can disagree on books and still have respect for each other. We won't take it personal if someone doesn't like a genre that we love.
One of the things I really like about this group is that people show mad respect for each other.
I have read Vampire Academy. Thumbs up for Dmitri! I have a well-developed radar for Russian heroes, believe you me.

Audiobooks can be really good or really bad. A narrator feels the book and interprets it for the listener. A bad one, you can tell it's just a paycheck for them. Or it's some ego trip and they just enjoy hearing the sound of their own voice and don't get into character much.
Arch wrote: "I love a dangerous bad boy, who not only loves the heroine, but shows how much he loves her. He'll die for her and even kill for her. Yes, I like them a little crazy and sometimes gets on the heroi..."I like my hero a little crazy as well. Definitely crazy about the heroine. In other ways too. :)
Looks like you ladies read some good books last month. Kryptonite, I am excited to read Rock Hard. Hopefully soon.
Kryptonite wrote: "Thinking back to some hero's I really liked it seems like the underlying trait is that the hero is strong, protective of the heroine, and crazy about her.Add on intelligence, funny, and a good he..."
Both excellent traits!
Dawn wrote: "A tortured, dangerous hero that finds redemption through love. He fights his attraction to the heroine, but loses, or rather wins, because the heroine understands him and loves him for all his flaws."Yes, please!
I vote for Nate Garrett from Prison of Hope. He is just one BAMF (excuse my language). I love, love a hero who can kick serious butt, but also has a sense of morals and a soft spot for children, old people, and animals. :)
I find a lethal, dangerous, cold as ice hero who is crazy in love with the heroine so darn irresistible. They are my Kryptonite, my Achilles' heel. What kind of hero is your Kryptonite.
I'm reading Consumed by Fire and I'm loving it. This woman, I tell you, she can write. Loving James. Heroine is a more messy than typical for Stuart but I like Evangeline. It will probably get five stars from me.
