Since the Birds book didn't take very long, I started
today. It will be the January read, so we won't start discussing it until then.

Amazing how dog hair gets into everything!

Hey, great job! Just in time for CHristmas! I must say you had a great review for the last book! I have a hard time writing books beside "I liked it". I usually just do the stars.

I would have to say one that envokes the "true" meaning of Christmas. Maybe, one that envokes hope and redemption, as well. Also one that has Bing Crosby singing-oh wait, that is movies, sorry!!:)

What do you think makes a Christmas classic?

Ours is a boy, but I just call him a knucklehead! Ha!He is technically an Irish red setter. There apparently is a huge brewhaha about hunting and show type setters. He is a hunting type, so no long flowy fur(Thank goodness)! Although he does LOVE to run and he will do so for miles!

I did, yes, I surely did! LOL

Yes, definately needed a kleenex with this one!

How are you enjoying it so far? Good thing the book is tiny! This holiday is WAY too busy to read a huge book!

I seem to have missed someone!:( Welcome Jack! Sorry this is late! If I missed someone else, sorry, and WELCOME!

Any thoughts on this book, besides a very sweet and tissue inducing read?

Not quite a travel brochure description of Africa! LOL! The book sounds interesting though.

Katherine, how is
Crossing the Heart of Africa: An Odyssey of Love and Adventure? I saw on your updates that you have started it. Any good?

We all should feel proud and trendsetting! Oprah is annoucing her new book picks on Monday and they are "A Tale of Two Cities" and Great Expectations". Who knew that we were so hip? LOL!

For those of you waiting on this book from the library, you can get it online for free also! Just google The Bird's Christmas Carol and you will have some sites pop up that will let you read the entire book. It is small, so it does not take long. Hope that this helps everyone find the book! Here is the link!

Do we all feel like we can put a notch in our collective Victorian era book belts with the reading of this one?
Congrats Enid! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It is a bummer when you spend so much time with a book and then not enjoy it when it is finished.

No rush. I just wanted to give everyone a chance to discuss, before the next book comes along!

Wow! Now you have more pictures to scrapbook.:) Nice job cleaning the office, that is easy to put off.

Does anyone have more thoughts about WIW?

Katherine, the pie was a success! Thanks for the recipe, it smelled awesome!
