I have
The Way We Live Now on my TRS, but I don't think now is a good time for a big chunky novel. How about
The Warden? It is only 336 pages and it also starts the Barsetshire series.

I have picked this up during the last two weeks and enjoying myself along the way. Rather reminds me of other books, Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden. I like Rebecca's spirit and her Aunt Jane is a nice compliment to the horrid Aunt Miranda. I know that I would go crazy having to sew brown muslin all day long!

I FINALLY finished this book. Oh my gosh, I feel like I conquered a mountain! It was a book filled with amazing imagery (that was only the parts that I totally understood). I'm so glad that I stuck with it and finished it. Cleo and Longhare, do you have any notes on the final chapters? I can't tell you how much I appreciate your discussion points while going through this book, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy this without you both!

This is the group read for August. I had to read this in school, so I'm wondering how much I have remembered or has been tainted by the movie's adaptation.

I thought we could read
Alice in Wonderland for August, how does that sound to everyone? Rather late notice, but it is not a long book, if I remember correctly.

I was watching the Amazon adaptation of Dr. Thorne and I realized that I have not read any
Trollope Anthony 1815-1882 books. Would anyone be interested in reading one of his stories with me?

The group read for June/July is
The Bridal Wreath. I have not heard of this one before so this will be a new one for me. Enjoy your summer and have fun reading.
Suzanne wrote: "Ack somehow I totally missed this - I clearly got distracted. Anyway- I'm going to try to read this one and pick up the June book too :)"I feel the same way!

I just thought of another fun book to read later in the year, how about
Alice in Wonderland? I can't believe that we as a group have never read that together.

I have to hang my head in shame, but I'm still reading this book. I'm currently reading two different copies, one on my Kindle and a physical book. I'm not sure why I have had such a hard time picking this back up. It now feels like a quest that I have to finish!

This is the group read for April/May 2016. I have never read this one and I'm looking forward to reading this one. I hope that we have some great discussions on this one.!

How about
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and
The Bridal Wreath for June and July ? I can set up the group discussion post and we can go from there.

So, which book would everyone like to consider for April? We can also pick another one for May it would help keep the wheel moving.

We did read Middlemarch from July to August of 2012, and I think that I made it through 1/3rd of it also. Apparently, I'm not grown up enough either! I'm still trying to slog through Paradise Lost so maybe, I should stick to Young Adult classics! I don't mind if anyone would like to reread a book that we have done. Many on our bookshelf, I never even attempted.

I think any of those suggestions sounds great! Honestly, I have only heard of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

I was looking through the group bookshelf and it seems that we have not read a Hemingway novel. I know that I had to read one in high school, so I was wondering if that sounds interesting to anyone?

I'm definitely in the running for worst moderator on Goodreads. Sorry for the neglect! I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for some upcoming group reads? I figured that Emily probably read Sense and Sensibility, but if others would like to give it a go, that could be in the running also.

The year has gone by quickly and I have been really neglecting this group. Sorry about that! Let's start off the year with some ideas for new group reads! Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm STILL reading this, believe it or not. I had to get another copy at the library, since my other one was due. This one has more of an old English spelling to the words, which is rather fun. I finished Chpt. 8 last night and must say that I found Chpt 7 rather boring. I thought that Chpt 8 would be also, but I found Adam's narrative about how he came into being interesting. It is a perspective that I have never considered. I never stopped to think about just waking up one day on some grass and what that would be like. Now for Chpt 9, which is the central one about the fall, rather interested in seeing how Milton deals with this.

What made it amazing. Having never even heard of the book before, I'm curious about it.
