Unless they just do a cursory glance at someone's profile and go with that. I don't know, but it does seem like voodoo sometimes how they pick people!
That does make sense now that I think about it. I never understood why some winners had 0 books and 0 friends. Always made me rather annoyed! Thought they gave books away based on more than recent joining status.
I just finished the chapter written by the lawyer, Mr. Gilmore. I find it interesting how his perseption of the situation changes from the beginning of the narrative to the end. Can't wait to see where this goes. Collins does a good job of building the suspense.
It is not too bad of a read, as far, as a classic goes. If your library gets it to you in time. I just got my copy from the library yesterday, and I reserved it in September! Finally, went and bought it!
Well, I did not win*sob*. Of well, guess I will raid the kid's Halloween baskets and drown my sorrows in chocolate! LOL
I would have to agree with you, Trisha. It did seem to be never ending. The book that I read had The Further Adventures of Robinson Crusoe in it as well. That was confusing to know when the first book ended and the next started, since they combined them.
You all will be proud of me, have used a bookmark faithfully for WIW. Must be all of the great support in this group! HAHAHA!
Katherine, I'm doing your shotgun approach and so, hopefully, Halloween will be my lucky day! Keeping my fingers crossed! LOL
It is definately not scary, but thinking about asylums during that time period and what they did to "patients" gives me the cold shivers.
