Discussion for Chapters 1-20 of the Count of Monte Cristo.

I just put a hold on the Modern Library edition from the library, so hopefully, I can get it quickly and not get too far behind.

It is never too late! I hope that we have not ruined the surprise for you.

Wow! They were prolific letter writers! I hope that you enjoy it! Congrats!

Hello and welcome to the group Yusra! Hope that you enjoy it!

I have to agree Amy and Niquae. I enjoyed TOTC and I thought the ending was great, but Pimpernel was just more fun to read.

Yeah, I kinda figured that, so I was wondering if someone who has a full version could help out with reading schedule? I will be trying to find a copy, but in the mean time if someone could do that for me, I would be so appreciative! Just set up a schedule of chapters and such, so that it will be easier for everyone to keep up and talk about would be so helpful! I'm sorry about this, and thanks for the info Vicky, I will have to get my umbrella up!Ha! Moderator foul big time!

Mine only has 479 pages, so I'm pretty sure it is the abridged version. Plus, it has Roman numerals for chapter-it ends on LXX, sorry don't remember what that is. The chapter name is The Fifth of October.

Alright for this week I'm reading
The Count of Monte Cristo,
Misty of Chincoteague and
Hot Six. I have become addicted to these Janet Evonovich books.
Amy wrote: "odd how? How do I know if my copy is better?"Ok, maybe odd was not a good word, but I'm having a hard time finding my edition on Goodreads(which just drives me crazy) and it seems so much shorter in length to other ones! Mine is just divided up into chapters, how about yours? Maybe, between all of us we can figure out a good way to split this up. What is a good reading speed for everyone?

Hello and welcome to Allison and Rushi! Hope that both of you enjoy the group!

Welcome to the group Allison and I'm looking forward to this one also!

Congrats to you Marna! I have that problem just between library and book that I buy! LOL!
Lesa wrote: "I really like the classics, and I don't mind re-reading Count, so I figured I'd join in. I don't have time during the school year, but this summer, I have made it my personal mission to have time t..."Yea! Here is to a bookful summer!

Hey, hey, hey welcome to the group Lesa! Ha! Did my updates start to drive you crazy and you had to see what was going on over here? It is great that you joined us, I hope that you enjoy it! *Did I just sound like Fat Albert? Ha!

Way to go Katherine again! Are you greasing some palms?

Hello and welcome to the group Sara! I hope that you enjoy it!

It probably would make it easier to discuss if it was. That is a good idea. How does it break out? My copy is rather odd, does anyone have a better one?

I was just thinking that it might be fun to have Frankenstein as the October group read. Might be the right time of year for it!
