I have now become a terrible example of reading the last part of the books. Maybe I need an ereader, it seems to stop it.

Just wanted to say welcome! Most of the upcoming group reads are listed, and then we have a group election and vote for the winner. We also have a challenge going on now. We are pretty mellow about things, just want to enjoy reading and have fun talking with others about the books that we read! Thanks for joining!

Has Louisville settled down now that the Derby is over? That is on my bucket list to do, attend all the Triple Crown races! I hope that you enjoy our group!
Did anyone else have the Misty Breyer horse? She was one of my favorites, until I broke her leg off. My daughters now play with her, broken leg and all!
I can't believe that I have never heard of this book before. I enjoyed it, however I had to commiserate with Mrs.Popper. I would not have been as patient with 12 penguins roaming around my house as she was. Plus, the water damage would have been awful! But, hey, it was a cute kids book!
I LOVED this book when I was younger! I was a huge horse fanatic and read almost all of Marguerite Henry's books. Can't wait to reread this!
I had jury duty the last two days, so I started The Scarlet Pimpernel and If Walls Could Talk but now I have been selected to be on the jury and so my reading time is going to drop dramatically since the trial runs until Friday. Oh well! Although I tend to get itchy when I can't read for a few days! Ha!
Just started this today, and the first chapter does suck you in. I wonder if Sergeant Bibot lost his head as well? Maybe Madame la Guillotine was full!
