222868 Damn, I am getting so far behind in my reading and making it worse, I saw this line and had to have this book "He is dumb as a box of rocks but he is all we got" = Bubba The Monster Hunter :) . Since I know that John Hartness is a great writer I expect it to be great reading ....... one day.

222868 This is on KU and you really need to read it :) Possibly the best telling of the Dragon and Virgin plot I ever read (actually not sure if she was a virgin). You think you know what is going to happen and it turns into something a bit different. Sadly is was 99 cents to buy this past weekend but I missed the notice. DRAGON LORD: A Dragon Shifter Romance

222868 I created this forum over a year and a half ago and had myself and Melindeeloo installed as moderators but I had to delete my first post today :) Some spammer for a book site in the UK has been spamming any group that did not require an actual authorization to post called itempass.com (some kind of book share site, not sure how they make their money) so if anyone cares to visit it feel free but those kinds of posts will always be deleted.

222868 Well after taking about 24 hours with a book hangover after reading Holy Sister I finally picked up one Tangled Web by Gail Z. Martin that I bought that I had missed the release of back in May 2018 and loved all the others in this series that she seems to write randomly every few years (2.5 years between this and the last one) but they have been pretty much 5 Star reading so I hope this one will also, first few pages seem to support that idea :)

222868 Kill the Farm Boy is one of those books you either love or hate, sadly I hated it but that does not mean it was not a good book, just not a good one for me, seemed overly stupid which usually means the humor did not hit home for me. Many other folks loved it so one of those hard to rate books :)

It gets worse, she now claims it was written for her by a ghost writer that she never met and that has now closed the account so she can't contact them??

"I just woke up to distressing news that my work has plagiarism from other authors. I am taking down all the works I did with a ghostwriter on Fiverr--who btw has closed the account--until I have made certain this is solved. "

222868 Well so as not to give any spoilers "Book of the Ancestor" trilogy was pretty close to as awesome as "The Broken Empire" and was without a doubt worth the 2 years I waited for the final book :)

WTF am I gonna read now LOL

222868 Holy shit! Still got about 30% to go in Holy Sister and it has been building stress for 100 pages I think and it keeps getting worse. I gotta take a break and get a drink I think LOL

222868 @Vanessa - re: Holy Sister I have GOT to finish this book today, I have not been to bed on time since I started this trilogy and this last book is driving me nuts trying to figure out what is going to happen.

Just FYI - I have a large portion of "The Broken Empire" burned into my memory it was such a masterpiece, as a turnaround I can hardly remember anything about "The Red Queen's War" other than how disappointed I was in the whole thing. This latest trilogy "Book Of The Ancestor" is much closer to that first one and will be remembered as nights without sleep LOL

222868 WOW, finished Red Sister Mark Lawrence writes compelling and addictive tales that are twisted and gruesome at times but you can't help but admire the talent. His second series about the Red Queen did not impress me but this one is closer to his Broken Empire masterpiece so far.

Back a few years ago several of us in the group were all reading the EE at the same time and it WAS a great series but I know what you mean, I read through the main story and loved it but never read those follow-up books.
