1. What are you reading right now?
Nothing right now, I just finished a book, in time to do a 12 Hour Update. I will be starting on A Perfect Storm next.
2. How many books have you read so far?
I just finished up my 5th book of the day
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Nothing really. I'm looking forward to "A Perfect Storm" but it's super short, so I'll be through that so fast. I want to do a few shorter books to get a few more in towards my yearly goal which I'm behind on. I also need to do one more specific thing for my Evolution of WDW challenge, so once I do that, then a lot will open up to me to do.
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Just my Hubby but He's been letting me read. :) We visited for a few minutes when He got home from work, and talked here and there, but for the most part, He's been watching shows and I've been reading. No real distractions this year, and I only didn't read for about 45 minutes of the first 12 hhours.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Better challenges this year!! YAY!! Still same opening/mid/closing questions, but a few good new challenges and they have actually been fun. YAY!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Sparta, NC ~ the middle of no where. :)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
No specific titles stand out. What I'm most looking forward to is making headway on my challenges, mainly Evolution of Walt Disney World. Once I read two more books for it, then I can read pretty much whatever, so those two will probably take priority. I'll be going for quantity this year, as I'm 17 books behind schedule for my yearly challenge. I hope to get caught up with Dewey's, or at least close. :)
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
As always ~ EVERYTHING!! I'm one of the junky eaters. My losing weight, during the last Dewey's, didn't last long. :/ Back to the good snacks this year. I have Graham Crackers with Reese's Spread, Cheddar & Pretzel Goldfish, Sour Patch Kids and Ice Cream sandwiches. Breakfast will be cereal, because I forgot to have my Hubby get me some muffins. Not sure what lunch will be, something quick & easy, and dinner will be pizza.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
HI! I'm Karsyn, over 40 (though much much younger in spirit), deeply in love with and married to my high school best friend. I LOVE to read, obviously, and am blessed with a ton of time to read. In a typical month I will read 15-20 books, often more, and when there's something going on, like Dewey's, I read a ton more! Beyond my books, I'm a gamer, and I built my own Gaming PC, 2.5 years ago, which I named Widget (after The Night Circus character). Widget is GREAT and we've had so much fun playing games on him!! Right now if I'm not reading, I'm playing Overwatch or Fortnite. Any Fortnite players? I doubt it, but if you are out there, contact me so we can play! I'm loving Fortnite lately. :)
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my 8th Dewey's so I'll do what I've been doing, try to read at least 20 total hours of the 24, if not a little more with the help of audios. My Hubby is working (it's always easier to read when He isn't here) so I hope to get a lot in before He gets home for the day.

Title: The Librarians and the Mother Goose Chase

Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Received from NetGalley for my honest review

This was the 2nd book in the Librarians series, the same as the TV show. While I am not current on the show, I have watched it, and watching the show is pretty pivotal to reading the books. You COULD read the books without the show, but you'd be missing the little nuances, plus they reference things that happened on the show frequently.
In this story, Mother Goose is trying to destroy the world, to create a new one. The Librarians are flung out to different corners of the world to trace down 3 parts of a Mother Goose book before Mother Goose herself.
I really enjoyed this story. It was typical of the Librarians and an interesting story. The characters are very well done to reflect their tv counterparts and I actually listened to the audiobook of this, and the narrator did a really good job of bringing the characters to life. Her Ezekiel and Cassie were especially good, she sounded like a female version of Ezekiel, and she had all Cassies mannerisms and the way she talks down pat. Baird & Stone weren't as good, but probably because they aren't as unique.
My favorite parts were definitely the house in Miami, though it was all enjoyable. The house was unique though and the kind of thing I like, puzzles in puzzles and I liked each time the story went to it. Satisfying, if a bit predictable, ending. Good for any Librarian fans.
Setting = B
Plot = A
Conflict = B+
Characters = B+
Theme = A
Recommendation: Recommended for fans of the show, and maybe fans of Mother Goose.

I've completed all three, so that's one of the 3 needed (if y'all wanna use it). Any other 2 people able to grab one?

There will be a little pause after 6 is concluded before 7 is started, so hopefully that'll give everyone even more time to catch up. Won't be long, but it'll be something. :)
Maya, I read one of the Ginny Gordon books by Julie Campbell. She wrote mysteries in the 50s. I found that the Internet Archive had two of the books so I downloaded it from there. Not the best thing you've ever read, but something at least. :) I'm still stuck on Percy, because I didn't want to re-read the Percy Jackson series, but looks like I'll probably have to.

Everyone still liking it, or are the tasks getting to be too hard, or at least the ones for the Completed Criteria?

As long as it's two different titles, it'll work. I don't know German, but if it's just variations of "Husband's Secret" then it wouldn't, but if it's two totally different titles, it will.
Hope that helps!

Sorry, I thought the boroughs were listed. I'll make sure to add those soon. I wouldn't know either, cuz I'm not from there. :) They boroughs are: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx & Staten Island.
No, professional versus motherhood would definitely not work. We're talking about completely different lives. In that case of the movie Hook, Peter Banning is a father/banker and then he finds out he's actually Peter Pan, and had a whole different life he forgot about. So we're looking for perhaps a person who has 2 different families where one doesn't know about the other. Or where a character thinks that someone does one thing, but they actually do something else. It's got to be a completely different set of lives they live.
Animals work as side characters IF they are actually characters heavily featured, and not just laying on a couch for a scene. In this case we were talking about Abu/Genie. So any non-human character that make an impact (not just for one scene) fits. Gonna say no on a ghost tho, as they were human.
