213642 Dunno about the house cup, we'll see! It's not a competition tho, so if we did do something, it'd probably be fore everyone.

I'm keeping an eye out. I posted the Notice and for anyone still not completed by Sat, I'll post on their individual threads about it, make sure everyone is seeing it that is Active at least.

213642 Yes, you MUST still complete it as your next book. We just had to have a cut off point (for those still joining into the challenge itself). So while your book wouldn't be needed to open the next chapter, you must still do it for your own challenge.

213642 Hey Beth, I completed 2 of the 3 books you picked for me. I really wanted to get to the third, Warcross, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been reading another computer / gaming series so I haven't wanted to mix it with another. I hope to get to it this month, it does look good!

First I read The Apprentice and I enjoyed it. It's enjoyable, but not nearly as good for me as some other series like it. I didn't like Rizzoli in the first book at all, but I liked her better in this one. I really really hate her family though and each time she has to be with them it annoys me. I know I'm a weird person anyways, but the way her mother reacted over her birthday. UGH. I wanted to reach in and slap her. Other than that, I enjoyed the mystery of the story. 3.5-4 stars

Then I read My Sister's Grave and it took me a very very long time to enjoy it, about half the book. I didn't like the flashbacks in the beginning. For me, there were too many and it really stopped the flow of the story in the present which I did like. It really got on my nerves and I would have rated the book a 3 or maybe even a 2 at that point. But then, a little over half way through, it really picked up a ton. The flashbacks were less and the story stepped up a notch. I did really enjoy the last part of it. Wasn't my all time favorite book, story or characters, but I liked them all more by the end then I did in the beginning. I'll definitely try the next one, see what it's like. A grudging 4 stars.

213642 My answers

What is the dumbest way you've been injured?
Broke my finger on the doorjam of a room when I was in the pre-teens. My birthmonster didn't believe me and sent me to school with a broken finger. I did the same thing at a exhibit at Nasa.

Of all the places you have lived/visited, what was the one you like the best? Why?

Visited ~ Vegas. It's just beautiful (at night) and so unique. It's a playground for adults and I loved it there, and would live there if I could. Lived ~ a house in Minneola, FL. It was HUGE and had a screened in pool that was the best, it was big (which is unique for FL pools). I spent all the time I could in that pool, I loved it!

What isn't real but you desperately wish it was?

Immersive Virtual Reality (like Ready Player One). I want that in my lifetime!

What is your favorite holiday? What is your least favorite holiday?

Christmas is my favorite for the trees, lights and songs, though we don't do anything anymore for it. I hate all other holidays, but mostly "thanksgiving". Biggest bullshit holiday of all.

What is something that I would never guess about you?

Most everything. I don't reveal me.

Would you rather go 30 days without your phone or your entire life without dessert?

I haven't had a cell phone since 2011, so yeah. We have a house phone but it rings about once a month, so I can easily be without phones. Don't try to take my PC away tho! :)

Who or where would you haunt if you were a ghost?

Somewhere in WDW, maybe Tower of Terror or Fantastmic.

213642 Me

Do you ever talk to yourself? When and what do you say?
Not specifically to myself, but I talk out loud a lot, just rambling. Mostly when I'm gaming. Usually I'm cursing for doing something stupid or talking to whatever character I'm playing. LOL! Well, like with Fortnite, the character will respond to things I'm trying to have them do, so I respond back. I'm weird.

What’s your favorite season?

Winter!! Bring on the snow! I love the snow, though it is hard for Jesse to get to work when it's snowing. Luckily the people He works with are super awesome and when there's bad weather, they are always willing to bring Him home.

If you could live in any TV home, what would it be?

Actual house, not sure. If I could live in any TV world it'd be Warehouse 13. But the B&B wouldn't be my first choice for just a house. I'd wanna live in someplace unique with secret passage ways and such. :D

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Cookies & Cream

What is your favorite Disney movie?

Beauty & the Beast

If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Steak, Burgers & Spaghetti

Do you feel like a leader or a follower?

Depends on who I am with. If I'm with a natural leader, I'm a follower. If there is no one to lead, I'd be the leader. I'm adaptable and I am equally comfortable taking and giving orders. :)

213642 My Answers:

Who was your first celebrity crush?
Joey Mac!

What is one thing you refuse to share?
With Hubby, nothing. With almost everyone else, the real me. :/

Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
No one, I don't think. Oh, Hubby reminded me that I talked to Don Cheedle and Annie Duke (at a poker tournament, saw several others, but those two were the only 2 I spoke to). I've seen, but not actually talked to several sports people including Hulk Hogan (he went through a haunted house at Universal I was working for Horror Nights), Mick Foley (came onto the ride I was working at IOA), Jerome Bettis & Hines Ward. I think they were looking right at me, in the photo I took, because I had a Steelers balloon floating right above my head and I was following them along the parade route.

How many slices of pizza are you capable of eating in one sitting?

Depends on the size. At 5 small ones from the Pizza Hut Buffet when Angie and I went there. About half of a pizza if I'm hungry.

If you could bring one fictional character to life, who would it be?

I liked the Lucky answers. That might have been mine, but this week I met Alma, so I have to say her. She's a Dragonling Familiar who is pretty kickass and sounds so fun and cute!

If you inherited or won a million dollars, what’s the very first thing you would do with the money?

Buy a car. I'm really really wishing we had a car, it sucks to be stuck in one tiny town.

Who is your favorite cartoon character?

Bugs Bunny I guess.

213642 Feel free to always check out my thread. In the 6th & 7th post I have my recommendations for tasks. It's not all of them, but I cover most. I'll make sure to go back and fill in ones I find, because like I found all the words in text for Ch 6, but have them just in my regular completed post, not the recs post.

213642 No, sorry, it needs to be an actual full address to identify it from any other place on that road.
Nov 06, 2017 07:00AM

213642 Definitely Melinda! The item, like the door, doesn't have to be huge, it just has to be half or more visible. That's a very visible door. :)
Nov 05, 2017 03:39PM

213642 No worries Eni. We'll forgive you.... this time! ;)

213642 Hope you can find some things Amanda. There's the Library, if you want help finding books. You can always ask for something for the Chapter you are on, but with another aspect of what you'd need for another chapter, maybe someone would know of something. I in particular love to give recommendations! :D
Nov 05, 2017 03:35PM

213642 We expected a few people to do it wrong, so it's ok. Just make it be the next book! :D

213642 I was just looking at that, and our Hufflepuffs are the 2nd largest house (OMG so many Ravenclaws here!) so YAY Hufflepuffs! :D

213642 No things for houses yet, we just introduced them after Ch 6 was done. It'll be a while before Ch 7 opens as we're waiting on everyone to vanquish their Acromantulas, so depending on how many books you are wanting to do per Chapter, hopefully you should catch up fairly soon, depending on your reading speed. :)

213642 Hi Dima!

The Sorting is for members doing the Return to Hogwarts challenge. If you'd like to join the challenge, you can read about it Here and sign up there as well.

213642 There's a general Q&A Thread but here is good too. :)

Depends on what you mean by completion of the event. If you mean the challenges then no, with 2 exceptions:

There are no time limits on the Takeover Challenges, with 2 exceptions
November Fetch Takeover books must be completed by 12/31
RtH Takeover book must be completed before Chapter 7 will open

If you mean the puzzles, there's no real time table. Let's just say the puzzles need to be turned in by the 15th, when we'll have our next newsletter.

No, you do not have to be a member of the site. You just click on the link you wanna do, complete it, take a screenshot of it done and send us the actual photo or a link to the photo (details on how, in the 1st message).

I'll add that time limit (for the puzzles) to the post, that way if anyone else wants to do them as well, they still have some time.

213642 Oh thanks for that, we didn't really want to make you do it, since I also messed up and said that a title was ok cuz I was focused on the 8 words and not that it started with "The". :/
Nov 03, 2017 04:18PM

213642 Right now, they have been mainly through the newsletters. We've been doing puzzles and giving them out with those. The most recent one was with the Demon Takeover Newsletter where you can earn 2, 5 or 10 Tokens, depending on which puzzle you do.

We'll have other ways at some point to, but the newsletters and Evo are it for now.
Nov 03, 2017 01:33PM

213642 hmmm, shouldn't have if you had

height="100"

or whatever number. Maybe it was off because it couldn't resize? I tend to do just either width or height, to the size I want, since the other will be automatic.
