I think you're right about economy. Certainly, 7 out of 22 chapters of the paperback I bought on the high street at the weekend start on the left. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?Something I saw recently had chapters starting on the last page of the previous chapter too. (Not a fan of that.)
It's a day as good as any. I'll schedule someone for June. Thanks. In other news:

Exposure yes, and the hope that Alex will get sales of the books that come after the free one. But blood-y hell! Even if I was in the running, I have too many financial commitments that would exclude me from such endeavours!
It makes sense, Carole. Doesn't make it right! Compromises all round.Yes Alex, it is annoying. I'll give it a few more hours and I'll see about ordering another one. After all, I haven't paid for this first one yet.
Logic and truth are often unpopular. Now, I know not many people have used the KDP paperback publishing thing. I requested a proof-copy of Missing Remnants last night. I was told I should expect an email within 4 hours providing me with the link to pay for my copy. The instructions were to pay within 24 hours of receiving the email. Admittedly I did this in the early evening of UK time but nowhere did it state 4 business hours.
Needless to say I'm still waiting for my email.
At the moment the Navigating Indieworld group is a closed one. It says only members will see the posts. Will that change later on today for the event?
I don't know. I'm still not sure. I'm going to schedule the posts on my phone for the half hour after 6.30pm BST and hope I've got the correct time slot. Then I'm going to hide until it happens and wait for the inevitable internet outage that's bound to happen in the house.
That’s just down to what your friends are willing to share on Facebook. My address isn’t up there. My mobile number is because it’s linked to my other business and the photos are the ones I’m prepared to share. You can lock your Facebook profile down and only share what you want.
I’m as nervous as anything1. My posts will be dull or
2. My posts will be the same as someone/everyone else’s posts
3. Makes 1 and 2 redundant because no-one will be there to read them.
I just couldn’t get them to line up right this time. Fine on the screen, completely wrong when uploaded. I might try again on a different book. I’m just happy I got the graphics in ok.
Oh I tried adding them manually. Cured myself of that one. When I uploaded to KDP they were not in the same place as they were on the screen. So they went. I’ll have to see how it looks in the proof copy I’ve never been able to order before. That’s exciting. I’ve got Garamond 11pt. I’m not good at judging what a pages font size is. The kids think the paperback I just bought is a 10pt. I’m hoping 11 will be ok. We’ll see. I can change it if I don’t like it.
That’s what I did. The font was too big on the PDF and it bumped the number of pages up to beyond 200 which wouldn’t fit the cover. I’d chosen drop capitals which didn’t translate into word when I tried to edit it. I took the D2D graphics and inserted into a KDP template version. I’ve gone with 8x5 and 165 pages. Same trim as the copy of Philip K Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric sheep. Picked it up at the weekend. Can’t remember the last time I read it.
Excellent news on Google Play. Weren't D2D working on distributing to them?I have (I think) cracked the formatting for the paperback of Missing Remnants and I have ordered a proof copy. It's a short book. I wanted it with a smaller trim so it doesn't appear as a 9x6" pamphlet!
Please cross everything in the hope the thing prints out as it should.
