If you look at my author page, you can see a good example of the increase in TBR list adds after a giveaway. I have done a giveaway for all my books except The Bright Red Tricycle so far.

I do not see an increase in sales from Goodreads giveaways, but I do get an increase in Goodreads followers and TBR list ads. Occasionally the winner leaves a rating or review. I normally just give away one copy purely out of personal preference. I see it as a cheap way to get my book in front of the eyes of hundreds of readers. Also, I am a children's picture book author too. :)

My brother has lost a lot of reviews from people that had no connection with him AND they were verified purchases. The reviews had been posted for a couple months before they disappeared. I understand that they had issues with fake reviews, but there really is no rhyme or reason to what qualifies now. And if you try to research their reasoning, it gets even more confusing.

I hear ya on the reviews! I always try to leave reviews when I get those emails.

I have had trouble with reds too. My bright red tricyle is sometimes a dull brownish red tricyle. I feel it is more of a vibrancy issue. CMYK seems to be closer to a true representation of the finished print product than RGB. You are right that a commercial house seems to be the only way around the issue. I did have better luck with Ingram Spark's premium color print option, but it raises the cost of the book so much I don't know that it is worth it, especially in paperback.

I have been having trouble with this for a while. As far as I understand, it is the nature of POD and variance allowance. I used CMYK on the background of my last book and it has been a little more consistant. However, I still struggle with my interior images since they are scanned hand drawn images and my version of Photoshop does not allow me to convert to CMYK.
