So this is a book I read as a kid, around the year 2000 or 2001. This book was older than that. I think it was written in the 1950s or 1960s, but it could have been older or newer than that (sorry, not much help there). The copy I read was old though - not a newly republished edition or anything like that.

From what I can remember of the story, it's about a family that moves to Greece because the father is some sort of scientist (zoologist, biologist, or maybe an entomologist?). I don't remember if the family was British or American. I think the family consists of a mother, father, (older?) sister, (younger?) brother and perhaps another sibling or two. I *think* it's from the boy's point of view. I don't remember much of the plot, except that it's about their time in Greece. It possibly was even a memoir and not fiction.

The one part I can remember well (because it was sort of gross, haha, and I was a kid) was a part when they all learn that they can't flush toilet paper because the plumbing can't handle it. The sister didn't pay attention to that and accidentally used already-used toilet paper. For some reason I think the sister's name might have been Meg, Megan, Margaret (or something like that). I could be 100% off on the name though.

I've read Charlotte Sometimes recently and the girl from the past doesn't come live (permanently) in the future.
