185 Could it be I Married a Dead Man? It's not exactly the same, but certain parts are similar to your description.
185 Also, do you remember if this is a recent book or somewhat older? And is it a YA or adult book?
185 Do you remember if the girls looked identical or not?

185 Could it be The Scorpio Races?
185 When did you read this book & when do you think it was published? Was this set in the current day or the past? And one last question - was this a YA book, a children's book, or an adult book?

185 I don't know if it matches, but the girl in For a Good Time, Don't Call Claudia has a pet ferret & is in high school.

185 Maybe you could spoilers under a spoiler tag? It'd probably help with the search!
185 Was this a YA/kids book, or an adult book? Also, would you label it a romance?
185 Do you remember if they knew right away that the cupcakes were poisoned, or did they not find out until later? Also, do you think this was part of a series?
185 Awesome! Congrats! Your bumping this topic made me inspired to search for your book again :]
185 A few other people have looked for this book before in this group. Is it Phileas's Fortune: A Story about Self-Expression?
185 Congrats on finding it! I'm glad my listopia could help :]

185 That sounds sort of familiar. Is the part about the bird in the house supposed to be a bad omen or something?

Also, can you remember what year you read this? And also the setting of the book - contemporary, early 1900s, 1800s, or what?
