Progress that is small is also long-lasting.

I tend to listen to calming music on Youtube lately, it's really great if you want to fall asleep or calm down instantly. Just look for "music for studying, falling asleep...".

And some of the songs of Beauty and the Beast are so soothing, I LOVE them. Gets me down to earth instantly. "Days in the sun, hm-hm, barely begun."

Haha, in German one can answer some questions with both 'yes' and 'no'. :)

Although I do possess more paperbacks(solely because they are cheaper and I stumble upon them much more than hardbacks, which to me seem only being printed when the book comes out the first time, and then they switch to paperback).

I don't like reading a book on a screen as I read a lot on the internet already. I tend to borrow the physical book from the library instead of using the digital version.

And the smell of books, either old or new, is one of the best scents in the world to me.

I know, right now they try to crowdfund 100.000€, I have given them 80 already, so I have given my fair share.(I bought a t-shirt and stickers).

I guess we need a long breath, as we in Austria tend to say, the compromise is really a typcially Austrian behaviour.

If only 5 of them are ratified, I'm happy. The last one 20 years ago had 11 demands, and to this day only 2 are totally ratified.

It's a Volksbegehren, if you know that term. So, every Austrian older than 16 is allowed to sign it, and when a certain percentage is reached, it must be debated in parliament. If the percentage is even higher it must be installed as such.

I like most of the demands, some I think are not perfect, but quite okay, the only one I don't like is the one about abortion. It is now allowed to abort a disabled child until the day of its birth, which is horrible enough as it is I think, but then this would be extended to every child. And it is allowed to abort any fetus until the 12th week, so, we have abortion already.

It is time - now more than ever!
It is time for us initiators of the women's* popular petition to speak out.
In solidarity with women* on the whole world, of all cultures and religions, of every sexual orientation, with mental and physical special needs and free of their social status, we want to set an example for the whole human world.
It is time to no longer let oneself be eclipsed(?), but to take the rooms and places, which we choose ourselves. It doesn't matter whether on construction, in parliament, by one's own fireside, or with a brush in the hand.
It is time to demand. We want political, societal, economic participation according to our share of the population. We don't want anything donated, we want equal opportunities for all girls* and women*.
It is time to disengage from stereotypes and gender stereotypes.We don't need barriers and fences anymore. We want to decide for ourselves who we love and how we live.
It is time to stand up. We don't want to wait anymore.
We demand change. Now. For our grandmothers, mothers, for us, for our children and grandchildren. For all.
It is time - now more than ever!


Each child has its place:
Each child is legally entitled to full-day no-cost, nationwide care of higher value after the maternity period.

live safe - reside safe:
Protection against violence centers and women's* shelters should be expanded and their state finance raised at 210 millions € annually, to comply with already ratified Istanbul Convention. The access to women's* shelters for asylum-seeking women* and women* with a precarious resident status should be guaranteed!

Self-determined instead of other-directed:
For girls* and women* a free, anonymous advice as well as a free anonymous access to contraceptives, pregnancy tests and to legally permissible abortions should be enabled.
(Right now abortions are legal until the 12th week, my own 2 cents)
The access should at least be possible in one public health institution per federal state and at gynaecologists.

Equal law for every child:
The claim to alimony advance consists aloft the Regelbedarfsätze(is this actually used in English, haha) and is connected to the time in which family allowance is received and is linked with immediate anulment of §UVG16 and §UVG19. (I don't know what they say, but I can look it up for you if you want.)

Independent while in maternity leave:
In order to promote successful entrepreunership* and react adequately to challenges concerning reconciability for persons in freelance work, we demand the withholding of SVA(the insurance company for freelancers) compulsory insurance contributions for all freelancers, who receive childcare allowance. A suprainstitutional counselling centre shall provide information and different models, in order to guarantee optimal compatibility.

Care and nursing staff:
We demand the categorisation of the 24-hour-care as employed work, thereby acknowledging established labour and welfare law, such as payment according to the established collective agreement for nurses and care workers, employee protection and trade union representation of interests.

Economic independency is no luxury:
The amount of the calculation of the emergency assistance and guaranteed minimum income of the Bundesländer happens individually. The income of the partner is not allowed to be added and therefore must not reduce the entitlement.
The same shall also apply for the compensatory allowances of pensions.

Equal pay for equal work:
The gender pay gap (around 20% in Austria, for your interest) must be closed via actions like income reports, which consist of new criteria and standards. In it bonuses, allowances, blankets, extra hours and the distinction between part-time and full-time and the percentage of gap in earnings between men and women must be made visible.

redirected instead of unpaid:
Due to the high percentage of women* in part-time work and for the fairer distribution of unpaid work between both partner_s we demand a reduction in working hours down to 30 hours a week (right now we have 40)

legal minimum wage:
Everybody shall be able to live from the wage. Therefore we demand a legal minimum wage of 1750€ gross.

Valued instead of displayed:
In order to design the public space in a valuable way for women* and break up medially constructed role- and gender images, we demand a prohibition of sexualised advertisements without product reference as well as products advertising contents and marketing strategies, that assign girls* and boys* a limiting gender role.

From the very beginning with them:
We demand consistent offers and a low-threshold access to counselling, skill assessment and child care for asylum-seeking women* and the possibility to already be employed during language acquisition.
For the realisation of this process different elements in refugee issues and other relevant actor such as the AMS(employment market service) shall work together.
Women* shall be informed about their asylum procedure and the possibility to apply for asylum unattached to their husband.

Women* on all levels:
We demand a 50 per cent women's* quote in executive commities of state and quoted companies and appropriate sanctions in the event of non-compliance.
In the event of non-compliance or non-performance of the gender quote in a case of reappointment of supervisory boards the election is annuled because of the ratio contrariety(sorry, I couldn't find a better translation) and the position remains vacant. Should therefore no woman* be nominated, the supervisory body must be reduced.

Out of the blue-pink trap:
We demand diverse boys*, girls* and gender roles. Each child has a right to development of its own potentials, without constructed gender stereotypes.
Education and teaching materials must be free of sexist and homophobic examples on all levels. Pedagogues in all institutions need a gendersensitive view for the work with children and juveniles, therefore we demand reformation of the educational training in terms of a critical and queer pedagogy.

Women* must be equally involved in political decision-making processes. Financing of parties shall therefore be paid off staggering, whereby the maximum amount is linked to the participation of 50 per cent women* in elected positions of all committees. The same shall apply to the club funding.
