What a year, everyone did so great whether we met our ultimate goals or not. Thanks for joining me on this challenge :) I'm doing the proper challenge this year but I'll keep this group open. If anyone wants to chat about books or prompts feel free to post. I won't update weekly but I'll check in from time to time. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2017!

I finished! Got my 30 books just under the wire :)

I'm going to cut it very close! I'm
On my last book but no idea if I'll finish it tomorrow

Merry Christmas if you celebrate it! We are in the final week. I know lots are done and others like me are close. Good luck whatever you're planning. I finished Fairest (Lunar Chronicles 3.5) which is book 29 so 1 more to finish. I started a Margaret Atwood last week and so I think I will reach my goal. My extra ambitious goal this week is to also get a start on my 800 page book for next year's challenge.

Fantastic Charline! I'm looking forward to the 2017 challenge! I've got my first couple too :)

Cress was a great third book, I find each one has been as good as the first which I find rare for any series. Each one focuses on a different character while still furthering the story. I'm starting Fairest today which is 3.5. How was the couple next door?

We are so close! How is everyone? Finished your goals? Getting there? I finished cress this week which brings me to 28 of 30. I definitely anticipate being able to finish. I just started the heart goes last by Margaret Atwood.

I didn't dislike it but I don't think it deserved the hype. I much preferred Before I Go to Sleep, I found it difficult to empathize with Rachel because she was just so self destructive. And the Rachel back story thing (no spoilers) was hard for me to read.

Another week gone! I finished the girl on the train and started cress. How did everyone else do?

I just grabbed Cress from the library and also confirmed that they have fairest! I'm saving winter for after the new year so I can put it into the "book with a season in the title" prompt. Finished girl on the train last night and it was good, don't know if it deserved As much hype, I preferred before I go to sleep.

So no finishes this week but I am a bit excited about next year's prompts!
Currently working on the girl on the train which I'm enjoying so far.

Almost into the home stretch! I finished 2 this week; Flight Behaviour which I put into a protagonist with my occupation and the ship of brides (a culture you're unfamiliar with). They were both quite good. Ship of brides was a bit depressing but really interesting because it's literally about a royal navy ship taking a load of hundreds of Australian war brides to the UK. It was particularly interesting to me because my grandmother was a war bride from holland and I'd never really thought about her physical journey and what that may have entailed. Flight behaviour is also depressing in a different way, it's about a small farming community in Tennessee where a flock (swarm? Group? Flight maybe?) of monarchs has come to winter instead of where they usually go in Mexico, so it's about the woman who finds them and her unsettled life but also about climate change.
How's everyone else this week? I'm starting the girl on the train FINALLY! Lol so looking forward to that.
I also updated my list in the group to reflect what I've done and allowed myself to switch a few prompts I won't finish to ones that I've already done so I've completed 19/20 prompts and 26/30 books.

Using this again!

Well I didn't finish any this week but I am almost finished 2! How's everyone else doing?

The popsugar list for 2017 has been released. There's also a few advanced prompts. I think I'll print the whole list and see how much I can do next year including the advanced. My goal will still be 30 but hopefully I'll actually get more read!

That's cool Mandy :) I feel like I missed out on a lot of the "hot" books this past year, like I said in my fb post.

I did give an author a second chance this year, I chose Douglas Adams and did hitchhikers guide, I read the second one last year for a book that was published the year I was born and disliked it. Reading all the books for book club is a good one too :) I usually do but my new book club chooses less interesting books.
Nazi officers wife was interesting but I found it hard to get into and stay into. It took me a really long time to read, I had it on my phone so I'd pick away at it. It was neat to read a different ww2 perspective because most Jewish people stories from the holocaust are survivors of the camps but she avoided them by changing her identity and posing as an aryan.

Well I finished the Nazi Officer's Wife and started another book so I'm up to I think 24 books. I can easily read 6 more. How'd everyone else doing? What are you thinking for next year? I think I'll try the popsugar one again once I see if I like the prompts but I'll probably stick to my 30 book goal, so if it's another 52 book challenge I'm going to be laid back about it.

Another week, another month gone! I finished Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles 2) and am just about done The Nazi Officer's Wife. The second is an ebook I downloaded off bookbub a loooong time ago and I've been just picking at it whenever I'm anywhere with my phone bored, like waiting at the dr, in line at the bank etc but the past week it picked up so I've gotten through a lot since Friday when I finished Scarlet. How's everyone else doing?
