50x66 It is a little Nicholas Sparks ish for sure, but on the bright side I found it much quicker than most of the more wordy NS ones :) but I personally like that kind of story occasionally so it wasn't a hard slog for me.

50x66 That's great Clare! Mandy it was so nice, it's been awhile since I really got into a book so to have 2 in a row (Martian and me before you) was a real boost for me :)

50x66 Whoops I forgot to post yesterday. I fished the Martian pretty quickly, I really enjoyed it. I did give up on the Shoemaker's wife, one of my person goals this year was to stop forcing myself to finish books I'm not enjoying because it turned reading into a chore last year which put a damper on my love of reading! How'd everyone else do?

50x66 Hey all, I lived up to my this year's resolution not to force myself to finish books that I'm not enjoying so I gave up on the Shoemaker's wife and finished Me Before You for my book becoming a movie this year. I'm still reading the Nazi Officer's Wife but I might work on the Martian first because it's for my next book club. How'd everyone else do this week?
Week 20- May 16 (4 new)
May 16, 2016 12:47PM

50x66 I am in another bit of a slump! I'm glad my goal is smaller this year though because according to goodreads I am still on track. Anyone have better progress than me? I made progress in The Shoemaker's Wife and started The Nazi Officers Wife so hopefully I'll have more to report next week.
Week 19- May 9 (5 new)

50x66 It's called the shoemakers wife but I'm still not sure what it's about lol it's set in turn of the century Italy. It's funny though because I recently read the pocket wife and am also just getting into the Nazi officers wife...

50x66 I have no updates, I've been working on a slower read for my book club. It's good but not a page turner for me. How's everyone else faring?

50x66 Thanks :) I'm glad you liked water for elephants, I love that book!
Week 18- May 2 (10 new)

50x66 Posting a bit early but oh well :) I actually had a good week. I'm starting to feel better physically so focusing on my reading is a bit easier. I finished House Rules by Jodi Picoult (not sure where I'm putting it) and Rotten Perfect Mouth by Eva H.D. For my book of poetry. They were both great, although I was disappointed to have guessed the "twist" in house rules so early on, it was almost like I was wasting all that time reading it when I already knew lol but her writing is captivating and I love her characters so it really wasn't a waste at all. Hope everyone else had a good week regardless of progress!

50x66 I loved water for elephants! House rules is good but my attention span is crap when I'm pregnant so I'm having trouble making really good progress despite it actually being really good. Stupid uterus stealing all my brain blood! :)
Apr 25, 2016 09:56AM

50x66 No finished books but I've put a big dent in house rules by Jodi Picoult which is pretty hefty (not the biggest but over 500) and almost finished my book of poetry. What's everyone else finishing up these days?
Apr 20, 2016 01:27PM

50x66 I like OITNB but the show is definitely more dramatic lol
Apr 18, 2016 11:21AM

50x66 Any progress? How are ppl doing overall? We're halfway through April!
Apr 11, 2016 08:59AM

50x66 Nothing here, working on a couple again so I'm slogging through. I'm going to have to get around to updating my read list and see how far behind I am! Any progress?
Apr 10, 2016 08:32PM

50x66 The Handmaid's tale was my high school intro to her and I love it! I really like dystopias though, although she would argue it is not systolic but rather speculative fiction :) My other fave of hers is the Oryx and Crake series but the first (oryx and crake) is probably the slowest.

50x66 Thanks ladies :) great progress on under the dome! I've been following your progress and can't wait to see your review. I was thinking of it for my book by an author I should have read by now but I think I might put it on my next year list since it's a huge undertaking :)
Week 14 April 4 (7 new)
Apr 04, 2016 09:18AM

50x66 Wow I can't believe another week has passed! It's out there for my friends and family so I can confess my reading has been slower because I'm pregnant. This was the major reason I pared down my expectations this year, since I get really sick and reading is hard for me when I'm sick. So no reading progress this week again but looking at my list I'm not doing too badly!

50x66 I hope everyone who celebrates it had a nice Easter weekend! I finished The Pocket Wife this week for a book about mental disease. I definitely recommend for anyone who liked Before I go to Sleep. How did everyone else fare this week? I know some of you are tackling hefty novels lately, any progress?
Mar 26, 2016 05:14PM

50x66 I just finished The Pocket Wife and it was really good. Not "about" mental illness but the protagonist is bipolar and it's certainly a major factor in the story.
