This will be interesting, you could go classic like The Old Man and the Sea, or novella. What are you planning for this one? Suggestions?
I'm looking forward to this one. This will be my only prompt I'm allowing a reread for (I may reread to kill a mockingbird before reading go set a watchman, but I won't count it towards a prompt). I'm planning on reading The Handmaid's Tale. Atwood is one of my favourite authors and one of my heroes so it'll be interesting to see if I still love it as much as I did when it was the first Atwood book I'd ever read.
Any thoughts on this one? It should be interesting, there are prequels, sequels, different perspectives etc what are you planning on reading for this prompt if you've decided to use it?
So glad to have so many people from different places and with varying goals. This should be a good challenge :)
I like that rule too, I definitely had some books I really didn't want to finish but forced myself. I will not do that this year either :)
Hey Mandy! That is exciting!! You did awesome on the 2015 one, a book a week with such specific prompts is so tough!
I like these, especially the self-published :) the one from the year you were born is one of the 2015 prompts which is why I didn't include it originally, but it's a great one for people who didn't do the 2015 challenge!
Yay! welcome everyone, so glad this group is getting a bit of traction. I can't wait to start but I am getting ahead of myself, since I still have 3 prompts to finish in my 2015 challenge :)
Here is a thread where we can put a bit about ourselves and chat. I'm Tara and I'm from Nova Scotia. I love reading and did the 2015 challenge to help me get back into a better pattern after having my baby in 2014. It was great and I will finish (2.5 books left) but it is hard finding time to read a book a week especially such specific ones with a toddler running around. I loved the prompts and finding new books to match certain prompts so I am looking forward to doing some next year. Welcome everyone whether your year reading goal is 5 or 500 and your prompts are 5 or 50 you are welcome here!
I'm planning on doing 20 prompts and a goal of 24 books (2 per month) I will likely read more but want to do a less daunting challenge in terms of numbers. I've chosen a mix of open ended prompts, specific ones and a few that tbr books will fit easily. I also have an over 200pgs (unless it's a book club pick) and no rereads for prompts (except number 2) Edit: I finally updated and I switched a few of my prompts to ones I actually read or will read! Goal hasn't changed though; 20 prompts 30 books total
