174195 At least my family says slacks and trousers, but they refer to a specific type/style of pants. Especially menswear uses the terms a lot more

174195 I’ll finish Things We Lost in the Fire tonight. I don’t think it fits any trivial pursuit subject, but will start I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings tomorrow which can go in non-fiction

174195 Finished The Age of Innocence and put it under character that takes a risk. Not sure what I'll read next. Maybe Things We Lost in the Fire

174195 Happy with these results. I think I upvoted all of them.

Just realized the initial prompt says “known for” which makes me think authors like George RR Martin or Taylor Jenkins Reid would count, because people shorten their names to GRRM and TJR.

174195 Finished Benevolent Society of Ill Mannered Ladies and put it under where a character gets/changes a job.

Reading a bit of Age of Innocence now, but won’t finish till tomorrow.

174195 Ooh but Fourth Wing is real good. You may get through it fast it’s a bit addicting in that way

174195 I read it probably a couple decades ago and remembered liking the movie. I’m really enjoying Newland’s progression and it’s very witty and funny.

174195 Hey all, I’m in California, US. I’m hoping to finish The Benevolent Society of I’ll Mannered Ladies today and maybe Age of Innocence.

174195 Dalex, it’s not too complicated for people to understand. I think it’s just not a prompt everyone could complete or would be hard for people to complete. I almost exclusively do audiobooks, so no blurbs for me.

We were trying to find ways to make it adaptable for more people. I thought that was what you originally asked for when you put the prompt in and said “do what you will” lol.

174195 I love the categories! You did a great job. I just wanted to make sure I understood the # prompt correctly.

174195 Robin this was great!

For Parcheesi, to confirm, with the page numbers it can only have 2s, 3s, and 4s?

So 234 would count. But what about

223

or 240 (since 0 is not 2, 3 or 4)

174195 Well now I've added Family Game to my TBR. Not sure if I'll make it this readathon but i'm sold just for the Krampus category

174195 Ooh I love that site. I would like a prompt just based on that. Maybe a combo with Dalex idea

174195 Oh I like obsession. Then it lends itself to some domestic thrillers too

174195 I had thought “warm” to cover warm temperatures, global warming, and warm fuzzy feelings (which I think includes cozy).

My worry about changing it to cozy or heated is that then it excludes the other half. Heated doesn’t cover warm feelings, but cozy doesn’t cover temperature.

174195 What about a book with a warm atmosphere to counter our chilling atmosphere prompt? Or did someone already suggest that?
Sep 07, 2023 08:45PM

174195 I don’t like lists, but if we have to have an award prompt I’d want there to be a list. Reading a book that’s won more than two just ends up with me randomly checking book details for every book in hopes I can fit it

174195 I would love Shelton to win, but not going to happen. It’ll be a rematch of Wimbledon.
Sep 07, 2023 06:24PM

174195 No I didn’t know about it. Looks like it comes out in November. Just added it to my TBR

174195 Ooh I loved the power. Have read it twice and will probably read again
