I had no idea Picoult was pronounced like that lol

Also not challenging you, just genuinely curious. I think I just assumed rhyming was universal in all languages.

That’s interesting. But since it’s names, I’d think there would still be a lot of options. Like in Korea Bak, Hak and Kwak. In India, Ansari and Kumari.
Or are you saying the concept of rhyming is English focused?
I also read kids books in Spanish, and there is a lot of rhyming cadence in those too. Granted Spanish is my only other rhyming knowledge.

But bec, would you consider gray and bray to rhyme, even though they both end with Ray.
I think most rhyming words have the same endings, but maybe I read too many toddler rhyming books right now: dog and frog, house and mouse, cat and bat, red and bed.

Nancy, I always think of rhyming as the last syllable, but it could always be BIO’d to make it the whole word. But by the standard I was thinking, all of those would match.

I was thinking for maybe a 2-week multi week two authors with names that rhyme.
I found I read the Diviners by Libba Bray and then the Last Mrs. Willoughby by Claudia gray. Could also do Roxane Gay!
I have other options, but I’m on my phone which sucks going back and forth in the app.

Woohoo!!

Pamela, have you ever seen When Harry Met Sally. Your comment about reading the last page reminded me of Harry.

Ha I recommend cats every year! Just because I love cats, so I would definitely vote for that one. Anything that gets our feline book companions in.

I’m usually one that always downvotes list prompts because, similar to Nadine, I like trying to be creative in how I interpret prompts, and that’s not possible with lists.
But if we had to have a list, I would prefer the best book lists from different countries.

I also like the horse or Kentucky derby prompt. I think horse racing would be too specific for me but I like the broader theme a lot

Is voting time shorter this year? If so, I love it!!
It could also be the same. I barely remember what I ate yesterday.

ok the stupid app on my phone was just showing me the first page of comments, and now I see Jill had the same idea as me but first on page 2!
Also, still getting through all the past comments so if someone else said this I apologize, but another play on the letter x, what about a book with an "ex". It could be an ex in a romantic sense, an ex friend, maybe a book about quitting their job (ex-coworkers) or leaving a relationship/situation

Love the ATY awards one. I definitely think there are enough.
Since we generally have something with the 24th letter, I was thinking a book with an “x” on the cover. Could be the authors name, title or maybe an x marks the spot on the cover.

So excited!! Hey everyone!!

Anastasia, your actually reminded me that I always wanted to go back and do ATY years I missed

Leah what’s Nadine’s extra challenge? Are those the “tougher ones” at the bottom?

I’m only 3 books away from finishing our challenge, and usually I then move to Popsugar. But I’m not really a fan of this years selection for PS. Does anyone have any other reading challenges they recommend? I think I’ll do fantasy bingo

Fantastic job everyone!!!

Finished A Tale Dark & Grimm and put it under Avant-shards/author you haven’t read before. That finishes up our 2nd round of avant grade.
Won’t be able to finish another by tomorrow, but will add pages.
