Looks like these are on it now since the last list update
100 The Merchant of Venice
101 One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
102 Where the Wild Things Are
103 Horton Hears a Who!
104 Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
105 Ready Player One
106 It
107 Emma

Need to see if this list has more titles now . ..

I think I might be at 17 now - there are a few on this list that are short stories/plays and I know that I have seen them or read them back in school. I feel kind of weird trying to officially claim I have read some of them.

Well. I have also seen others on Goodreads say that they missed the Christian imagery i..."Ha! I like that - magical soap opera!
Truthfully, I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book. Maybe seeing the discussions about Christianity/Paganism skewed my approach. Also, competing religious themes seems more commonplace in book discussions over the past few years. Perhaps if I had read it 10 years ago, my perception of it would have been different.

That surprises me because so far, for me, that is pretty much all it is!

So much Christianity vs Paganism in this section. I don't mind if that is just a part of the story, but it feels like it is getting kind of preachy.

Probably going to start this Monday . . . not excited after your first impressions, Scarlett!

Hello all! Sorry to not get the discussion threads and currently reading for December up to date until today. I was on a trip for my 40th birthday in Vegas so updating Goodreads and reading time were in limited supply!

If Wikipedia accuses her of molesting her own daughter, then yes, that's the basis of the accusations.

Anyone else on book two? Seems like for now each chapter is a rehashing of who loves who, who wants to love who, why that love is forbidden, and what needs to happen for there to be legit heirs to the throne.

So, uh, someone just pointed out to me that Marion Zimmer Bradley had a shady life. I just read her Wikipedia page and . . . um, ugh! I will finish this book, but I think my view of it is a bit tainted now. I only know what Wikipedia says, so maybe I didn't get the full story, but what is there is scandalous enough!
Scarlett wrote: "Anyone else reading here? I am having a bit of difficulty getting into the story. I'm on p.41."Hey Scarlett - just got my copy from the library and plan to start on my birthday next week since we are going on a trip and I will have several hours on a plane and in layover. Based on what you are saying, it might help me nap!

Discuss book three of The Mists of Avalon here

As I finish part one, I feel that the similarity between the names Morgause and Morgaine has been - and I fear will continue to be - confusing!

Welcome Glenda! I hope you enjoy booth books!
