152301 For Google forms, I can put a "one vote per user" but it need a connection so it won't be available for people who are not on gmail ;)

152301 Yes, we can lock/unlock threads without problem :)
For me, it would be fine like this.

152301 You have to add your ratings :p
I like knowing how were the books while looking at the plans. You're doing pretty well reading in order :)

152301 Google forms seems nice, it's possible to do a big list with checking. I don't know if it's available when you don't use gmail, it could be a problem if not.
Maybe we can combine a form with Peter idea (submit ideas, create a check list, select the 8 most voted for 8 weeks, and do the same thing again).

I would like to order the weeks only at the end, because it will be less balanced if the better/ more interesting weeks are all in the first months.

152301 My average is 4.04, but I really choose my books carefully and I'm not interested in reading lots of boring books (no way I'll have an average near 3.0). As I tend to stick to authors I like and often read series, the ratings stay pretty high, and when it's something new, I try the sample before jumping in a book.

152301 I read this some years ago and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I'll re-read it for this week and I hope I won't be disappointed :)

152301 I read one of the Pratchett's books this weekend (I decided to double my fav author week), I had to catch up some of his later (darker) works and I think it's a nice tribute.

Maybe I'll do a full re-read this year but not a chronological one. I bought and read the books according to the releases so it could be interesting to group them by characters.

152301 Week 19: a book based on a true story
May 7 - May 13, 2015

It can be a little difficult to sort the differences between non fiction and true story, depending on the books. An easy way is to select a book with "true story" in the title or a book about true events happening to real people. For many of you, this week will be out of your comfort zone, so try to find an appealing book :)

How to Create a Topic:
1. Create a topic in the appropriate folder using your book's author and title (Title by Author). Link your book with the "This topic is about" feature.

2. In the body of your post, comment about why you chose this book. Have you read it before? What are your expectations?

3. Feel free to use the thread as a way to update the group on your progress. Also, when you are finished reading, add a small review and your thoughts about the week's challenge.

4. Comment on everyone else's posts as well! Participation and group involvement will make this challenge so much fun!

**If you chose the same book as another group member for the same week, do not create a duplicate thread.**

152301 It's funny for me to see this type of book as a "non fiction". But well, it's listed many times on Goodreads as a non fiction, so it's ok for the category :)
I'm avoiding religious books so I find you very brave to read this if you don't believe in god. I hope some parts of the ideology are interesting.

152301 I'm like Rebekah, I've no problem to give 5 stars to a book I liked a lot or loved.
Books I don't enjoy tend to win a 2 or 3 stars, depending on how boring or bad written they are. I think I gave only 1 star rating since I'm on Goodreads.
152301 Can you add the week for your book (edit your post and choose the week in the list) or tell us the week so a mod could move the thread? Thanks :)

No answer, so moved to mystery week.

152301 - a book with a fruit or vegetable in the title (yey, there's already a listopia for this)
- a book with a creative title (I see too many dull titles and will be happy to discover good ones)

Lots of good ideas there, we'll have a hard time deciding our favorite ones :)
Maybe we can try to find a name for the 2016 group too.

152301 Hi, there is already a thread for this book on this week ;)

No answer, so moved on Romance week as it's a love story.

152301 What did you read this week?
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

Did you choose a mystery or a thriller?
It's short mysteries.

Did you enjoy the book? Would you recommend it?
Yes, some stories were interesting, other were average. I would recommend it to people who enjoy Holmes, I think complete stories are better for someone who never tried it.

How were the suspense and the investigation in your book? Were you surprised by the conclusion?
Investigation? What investigation? No, Holmes listens the story, thinks, goes away and finally solves it. Watson opens his ears, thinks, doesn't understand. So zero investigations in these short stories, it was the bad point of the book.
Most of the conclusions were unexpected and good enough, I find Doyle less predictable than other writers like Agatha Christie.

152301 Some changes this last week!
As my trilogy (The Long Earth) will have a 4th book later this year, it was no more a trilogy. I decided to change it and to use the Riyria Revelations. There are not really a trilogy (there are 6 books) but as they are released as 3 omnibus, it seems ok for me. I finished the 1st one, liked a lot the characters and was interested in the story, so I will be very happy to continue the reading.

For this week (mystery), I previously chose one of the Holmes' stories, but I didn't find the motivation to catch-up all the previous ones. So I read in order and finished The Adventures for the challenge. I enjoyed them and found easier to read short stories (I like a lot Holmes and Watson as characters, but not really how the stories are told). Maybe I'll continue the read this year, or the next ;)

I read my graphic novel for the short stories week and found it really interesting and unusual (on the creepy side). Quick reading, so I'll have time for a full book of stories too.

I discover that one of my to-read is a Pulitzer, so I'll have 2 books to read (it's the never ending challenge...).

And I chose my book for the christmas week at the seconde I discovered that Baum wrote a christmas book (not in Oz, but it will be short and maybe funny).

152301 - An happy book (there are too much depressing books).
- A book from the 2015 challenge (I'm sure you added plenty of books because other members read them).
- A book nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards.

What is a "meta book"?

152301 We are halfway done with Week 10 and we hope the murderers and other bad guys are not too creepy. Tell us more about your book.

152301 I liked it a lot and it's not a genre I usually read :)

152301 I've to try the author, but I don't know where I'll start ^^
This one has a funny summary!
