So looks like we get a second season of Cross...No other info available.

Six days after the Season 4 finale, Apple TV+ delighted fans of the Emmy-award winning British spy drama by announcing a new, six-episode sixth season. Season five was announced earlier this year.

This series is over now - all episodes now streaming.

However Hulu will be having a second season for this show.

The film ends with the title card "To Be Continued", setting the stage for Wicked: Part Two (2025). But nothing so far in IMDb - however somewhere at sometime I heard something about Part II. Maybe they are talking a release date? Not sure.

Doesn't seem to be any movement yet.

This is really a documentary. It is on Apple and the book, in my opinion, was great.

The premise is "On the shores of Jeju Island, a fierce group of South Korean divers fights to save their vanishing culture from looming threats."

Well this ended up on Netflix, not Apple, and is for sale or rent on Prime.

I really didn't ghost you! I have been here, just not very active. But I will do better. I think I have a schedule to work from - since I have 4 other groups I moderate - and will be here at least on a weekly schedule. I plant to recheck all the adaptations that are already open to see what movement they have made, and I have a few new ones to add. So....I am off to get busy...

Not a biggie on CIA, sabotage or espionage but I jsut got this book. It is short, so hopefully I can get thru it.

The new series will be called Ballard. Season 3 of Bosch will lead directly into this new series. The Rene Ballard character is a figure deeply rooted in real life law enforcement inspired by the legendary LAPD detective Mitzi Roberts -who will serve as writer and technical advisor. Roberts also worked as an advisor on Ballard's character in the Michael Connelly's novels. Roberts had a 35 year career in law enforcement.

Season 3 of Legacy - starring Titus Welliver premiers next year with the Ballard series following it.

It will be on both Freevee and Prime. It started in 2022 and there are thirty 50 min episodes .

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire

I assume that if this is as popular as it is billed to be that all of Gregory Maguire's books will be eventually be made into movies. This movies designates "part 1".

This was released in theaters on November 9, 2024. It is 2 hrs 40 min

Factual errors
In the movie the two letter abbreviation for Nebraska, NE is used. Two letter state abbreviations weren't introduced until 1963, long after the Wizard left for Oz. The correct abbreviation for the time would likely have been Nebr.

When Elphaba leaps from the Emerald tower, the black cape which Galinda/Glinda had placed on her has suddenly become 3x the original dimensions, and cartoonishly, extremely large.

Revealing mistakes
In the classroom scene where Elphaba causes the flowers to rise in the air and the pollen sends the students to sleep, you can clearly see a wire suspending one of the flowers as it moves. It will be interesting if this gets corrected for the streaming and DVD release of the film.

In the credits
The Universal Pictures logo used is the 1937-47 version, in tribute to the era when The Wizard of Oz (1939) was released, appearing in a zoom-out shot used by the current logo. The logo is also in green and pink, the colors of the main characters Elphaba and Glinda.

Trivia
Practical sets were built and supplemented with CGI rather than being filmed on green or blue screens. Director Jon M. Chu wanted the world of Oz to feel like a real place rather than just a computer-generated background. This included planting 9 million tulips to serve as part of the landscape for Munchkinland.

The name of the Wicked Witch, Elphaba, was created by taking the phonetic pronunciation of the original "Wizard of Oz" author L. Frank Baum's initials, L-F-B, which became Elphaba.

Pfannee is traditionally played onstage by a woman. The character was changed to male so that Bowen Yang could portray the role.

The leading duo insisted on singing live during filming. According to director Jon M. Chu, "When we were shooting it, those girls were like, 'F--- the pre-records. We're going live.'" He was initially skeptical of this, since there would be "a lot of wind" in their air pipes as they performed the more complex sequences while maintaining their singing voices. They simply replied, "Yeah. That's what we do."

Note from Assistant to Stephen Schwartz: While it looks likely that a movie will one day be made based on the musical WICKED, it most likely will not happen for several years at the very soonest.

Luckily it is over a year before the movie comes out. And may be even longer before it hits streaming, unless Amazon puts it right to Prime. I jotted this one down to read sometime mid 2025, giving me time to forget most of it before the movie hits. Which is how I like to transition from book to adaptation.

MGM+ released a trailer and announced a premiere date of December 1st for it's upcoming post-apocalypse sci-fi series Earth Abides based on the book by George R. Stewart.

William H. Macy has joined the casting of The Running Man, based on the book by Stephen King. The film adaptation, which is about to begin filming, is being directed by Edgar Wright with Glen Powell set in the lead role.

Legendary Television has acquired the rights to Murdle, a collection of murder mystery puzzles by G. T. Karber, to develop a scripted series based on the best-selling book.

Happy Prince has optioned Wideacre by Philippa Gregory with plans for a series adaptation.

Roma Roth and author Robyn Carr have partnered again to turn Carr's Thunder Point series into a scripted series. Roth also led the adaptation the Virgin River series for Netflix also based on a Carr novel.

Dollhouse Pictures, Rose Byrne's production company, has partnered with Foundation Media Partners for a film adaptation of Wolf Girl by Anh Do.
