Appears that this has been in the can for a few years. It was destined for Hulu with 9 episodes. Filming began on 28 March 2022 in Nova Scotia. Principal photography concluded in Mexico City, Mexico on September 18 2024.

I have no idea where this series will begin - ie what book! This is a long series written by James Patterson starting with the book Along Came a Spider way back in 1992. Of course that book was made into a movie with Morgan Freeman.

Dr. Alex Cross is a specialist in forensic psychology, originally working for the Washington DC police department and later as an FBI senior agent.
Each book in the series is a whole story with a beginning and an ending, however there are references to prior stories in the series. So far Patterson has 33 books based on this character - so where the series will start is anyone's guess. Maybe with the 2006 book Cross/Alex Cross ???

What I do know...This series will be on Prime starting November 14, 2024. It has been picked up for two years. It appears there is 8 episodes the first year, all available to watch on the 14th, with an additional 3 in production already for season two.

The series is currently in pre-production with casting ongoing, filming is expected to begin in Fall 2024. There is no set release date yet but based on the expected filming window the series will probably premiere in late 2025 or 2026.

Had looked forward to this one. Had heard good things about it. When I started it I saw that there is a lot of Japanese spoken with subtitles. Turned me off immediately!!!!!! Guess I will take everyone's word that this is a good series - I wont be watching.

I started this one and have watched the first episode. I really liked the book, which I read some time ago. I reserve my opinion of this show until I watch a couple more episodes.

I see where this show has started - I think in the UK? Not sure - I can' remember. Evidently they get the full broadcast before we do. As far as I know this one is still on track to start this next January.

Altho I enjoyed Magpie Murders I can't seem to get into this one. Going to leave it alone for a while and try it again in the future.

Just picked up the book and the audio CD. Hope to start it sometime in the next couple weeks.

Watched the third episode last night and I think this one grows on you. I am starting to enjoy it.

12 Months to Live by James Patterson and Mike Lupica

Although I cannot find this on IMDb - yet - the Max show is named after the name of the series -Jame Smith. 12 Months to Live is the first book of the series.

“Jane Smith” falls under Skydance TV’s deal with Patterson under which they are developing a slate of series based on his books. Up next under the deal, Amazon will debut the series “Cross” starring Aldis Hodge, based on Patterson’s Alex Cross novels, on Prime Video beginning Nov. 14.

Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu

On November 19, 2024 Hulu will air this story with 10 episodes. It is the story of an Asian-American actor struggling against clichéd roles and stereotypes, both at work and in his personal life. Currently there is one season and all episodes will be available on Nov 19th

The Piano Lesson by August Wilson

This book is actually a play. August Wilson| is noted for some infamous plays which have been turned into movies - such as Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning, Fences. This is his second Pulitzer Prize-winner.

This will show on Netflix, releasing November 22, 2024. A 2 hr movie starring Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Ray Fisher and Michael Potts who all starred together in the Broadway production of The Piano Lesson from 2022-2023. It is produced by Denzel Washington who is attached to many of Wilson's plays.
