There seemed to be a lot of interesting discussion on this book in the 'October Planned Reading' thread.
I read it the other day, and enjoyed it far more than expected. And it actually freaked me out, which is rare for a book to do!

Does anyone ever get really frustrated that they can't read super super fast, so they could get through all the books they want to?
WHY DOES READING TAKE SO LONG?!
(rant over)

Two conflicting views! Ahh! I think I might go for Maurice, and try get it read for the Banned Books Challenge (hell yes, points), and then save Dracula for the Readathon, or just for the interim between now and the readathon!

I think I'll read
Maurice for this, since it's currently sitting on my desk begging to be read.

You may find the 'Our Books' folder has been renamed to 'Specific Book/Author Discussion'. This folder fell through the cracks a bit, with no real purpose. And now, we're revamping it.
If you've been chatting about a book in another thread, and would like to continue the discussion, or you really want someone to talk to about the book, it's the folder to go to. Make a thread, and let people battle their opinions out. Just post a thread about the book, or even author, and you can start discussing. You'll hopefully see a few new threads popping up so you get an idea of what it's about. Finger crossed, it will become a more used part of the group!

Thought I'd just revitalise this thread, since I need it right now!
Can't decide between
The Castle of Otranto (a few pages in and I'm just not getting into it),
Dracula, and
Maurice!
Any opinions?

New Mini Challenge idea! Love it!

Cindy, it's just a fun casual thing to do. No pressure! :)

Colleen, we're planning on making it a monthly all year thing in 2015 if this goes well.

An author I'm yet to delve into, and I really wish I'd have the time to get into one of his novels.
Which one would you recommend first, Renee?

To be honest, I think there's no real need to read horror/spooky books this readathon. Read what you want to read for it!

I could do a double whammy and do 'Orange is the New Black'. Or I could finally tick off 'A Clockwork Orange'... Decisions...

Sandy, you could always make a Goodreads shelf to keep track?

Yep! I'm basically always on here...

That's a truly insane list, Iasa!

Sorry, yeah. Making a thread on the app means I can't assign it to a folder. Which is frustrating...

I got it from the library, and is proudly sitting on my desk. I glanced at the first page, and the format (seemingly diary) might be a bit hard to get into. I will get to it once I've finished
The Castle of Otranto.
