Starting
11/22/63 and
Discount Armageddon (because of Danielle :D) today.
I finished
Dead on the Delta last night. It was pretty good!
Has anyone read the YA UF Blood of Eden series by
Julie Kagawa? I read the first two books and LOVED the second one. The third one,
The Forever Song, just came out and all I've heard is how long and angsty and not worth anyone's time it is. Anyone read it?

I remember that one too! hahahaha. Oh man. Group rewatch? hahaha.
Ugh. I hate angst. It's so...teenagery and unattractive.

Okay, so I finished it yesterday. I'd give it 3.5 stars. It's a really solid first book. I liked Annabelle's character a lot...you know how we love the flawed heroine. I feel like her life and her drama was kind of more (and more interesting) than the paranormal mystery element. Which isn't necessarily bad. A lot of things happens with her. And a lot of stuff changes for her. A lot. So. She's all changing and I kind of feel like this book was a prequel to what the series is going to be like. Yanno. Because usually and all that stuff that I won't spoiler has already happened, and we're trying to play catch up. So. I'd definitely give Miss Stacey Jay world building points for that.
Anyone going to read the second book?

SPIKE OMG ❤️❤️❤️

I bought the ebook as well.

I only read book one in that series. While I enjoyed the book and the politics, it actually got way to techie for me. I didn't need the twenty page descriptions of the equipment in their vans. So...that's what did it for me. Haha.
I'm gonna start the group pick tonight,
.
YAY.

Starting this tonight <3

Me either! It's been pretty pathetic.

I'm gonna start it this weekend, Carolin :)

Blood of Eden series (YA UF) by
Julie Kagawa

Controlling behavior that is supposed to be love is inexcusable to me. The weird thing is you always find these guys...these whiny, stalkery, controlling, obsessive, don't leave the house or do anything on your own guys in YA novels (which is why I don't really read YA). I mean, don't get me wrong...they show up in adult fiction, too.
I definitely love to love the bad guys, but not the assholes. Or the controlling pricks.
I'm curious about who everyone's weirdest (or hardest to admit) book crush is? Anyone have a good one?

There's Cookie and Garrett in the Charley Davidson series by
Darynda Jones. Not POV characters, though.

Oh my god. I love all of these.
Death.
Reyes.
Terrible.
Ryodan.
PEETA.
PEETA.
lol, this game is not possible.

I love Chess/Terrible. Charley/Reyes. ALEX/DEATH!

I like that, too. It's kinda boring when they get it right in the first book and then we have to read about them saying and doing the same stuff for the next ten books!

I need to read some of the books I've already purchased before I buy even more! I'm really bad about that D:

Oh and I didn't like Mircea either. That dynamic drove me crazy.

Okay, so. I'm finished with this. I liked the book. I like Cassie and the other characters. I enjoy the whole "time-travel" aspect. I am always a big fan of that. The story was intriguing and I appreciated Chance's witticisms. My only real dislike is that some of the scenes seemed to be dragged down by information and super long explanations about the past and magical rules and they felt like interruptions. I loved that it started out fast-paced like it did, with Cassie on the run.
I'll probably pick the series back up again at some point. I keep hearing about how it gets so much better after the first book.

I would consider the O'Kane men alpha males for sure. Just not the shitty kind.

I'm already so ready to know when the next one will be out. My Ryder and Adam love is so real. We need to get the others on this asap.
