116885 It's sexist and primitive.

116885 The Leftovers is SO good. I was bigtime Lostie, and there have been so many shows that have said they're "from the creators/writers of Lost" that ended up being nothing special. But. I think they've got it together this time. I'm loving it ❤️

116885 Agree on both accounts. Gave up on True Blood this season. It's seriously so bad. The Strain has been awesome lately. I wasn't sure about the first episode and those little mouth suckers are a little much for me to handle but...I'm definitely enjoying it.

116885 WHAT.

116885 I can tell you...I am a HATER of PNR. Actually, just R. R in general. I'm not a romance girl. Not the fluffy stuff, anyway. I like mine dark and gritty. Think Sins & Needles (Javier....slobber). Which is why I enjoy a good UF. Edgy, action-packed goodness that hopefully will come with a fair helping of sexuality.

I think that's the line with PNR and UF: Romance vs. Sexuality.

The Fever series was dripping in sexiness but lacked the romance and the swoon and the love at first sight and the 'I-live-only-for-you'. That's what I like.

Sometimes, you get too much into the romance with the swoon and the MC becomes weak and vulnerable instead of strong, independent, and kick-ass.

I prefer to keep it hot and edgy.

116885 Alex Craft is a great series if you're into the Fae. So is the Fever series if you haven't read that, yet. Two of my favorites. Also, LOVE Charley D. The Fae Chronicles is another guilty pleasure. It overlaps with...erotica. So if that's not your thing, steer clear.

Charlie Madigan is another awesome series. No vamps, no shifters. Aliens. Of the mythological persuasion.

I dabble in steampunk! lol. You'll have to let me know how it is.

Nick and Kim...I'm about halfway through the first Thursday Next book now. Loving it so far :)

116885 I haven't really read anything outstanding lately.

116885 See, I've been having the same issue. And also. I don't like PNR. So that makes it more difficult.

I keep hoping each new book I read is going to be one of my new favorite series. But no luck. Not since Charlie Madigan.
116885 Little Women was another one for me, too. Almost said that one.
116885 That's awesome!

116885 Here are a couple new ones I've been thinking about reading, if anyone is down:

Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper. Haven't read any of the other Harper books. Who has?

Twisted Miracles (The Shadowminds, #1) by A.J. Larrieu Twisted Miracles by A.J. Larrieu. It's the first in a new series, I haven't heard much about it but it got a good review on allthingsuf.com.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

116885 Still no idea what is going on with book 4. Kalayna seems to have gone completely off the radar.
Fictional World (24 new)

116885 I've had The Eyre Affair on my nook for forever. Read the first chapter and got distracted by another book I was trying to read simultaneously. Maybe we should buddy read it, Kim :)

You know I'd have to live in the Fever world. I would rock Fae dystopia like a badass sidhe seer should. Chill at Chester's. Have hot sex with Ryodan (and I'm old enough that no one would even complain about it! lol).
116885 Anne of Green Gables! Hahahaha I loved those books when I was in elementary school.

Then it was Harry Potter <3 Still is one of my all time faves, of course :)

116885 I added it to our group's TBR a while ago, but haven't read it yet. Might have to change that.

116885 I love the Outlander series and Jamie. I mean yeah, there are some questionable things as far as feminism is concerned, but it is 1753. And I think Diana did an amazing job with Claire and Jamie. I love him.

I've only read through the fifth book. The first four were amazing. The fifth was over 1000 pages and not on par with the first four in my opinion...which is why I have yet to finish the series. The TV show might be the motivation I need.

I'm super excited about this :D

116885 I'll do some searching right now. No news that I've heard of. Book 3 is really good though. OMG. Probably my favorite one.
