Woohoo, all comers welcome! Thank you for stopping by Ronald! Would you tell me the story, or inspiration, behind The Spawn of Arget Bethir and if you will be writing a book length version?
Boom! From late to done! https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...While not my preferred timeline for reading, I had to take the time I found.
The Spawn of Arget Bethir ★★★★★ A young monk has violent dreams that leading him to discover the legends that tore apart his family. Kelly combines The Book of Kells and werewolves to create a legend that deserves its own series!
A Fine Wake for Nana Ferree ★★★☆☆ I feel like he missed a trick here. Just a little more plot, a few more pages, and it could have been an awesome Irish version of The Skeleton Key.
O’Sheehan! DNF
I lost interest.
Postcard from Kilkenny ★★★★½
A man receives a postcard from his long lost uncle, an uncle who should be dead, an uncle who was rumored to be a vampire. Kelly even managed to slip in a joke about his vampire novel Blood Kin, a book Graeme recommended!
The Wee Village ★★★★☆ Children are monsters!
Diabhal’s Timepiece ★★★★☆
“…once in the grasp of Hell, you would Always remain there and you would Never be able to escape.”
Battling Benedictings face the forces of Hell without God’s blessing, news at 11. This felt a cheerful addition to the other book I’m currently reading, The Name of the Rose.
Really? That surprised me until I realized this was not something I have ever looked for, lol. Is there a documentary about it? I am curious who the woman was.
Welcome to the party Caleb!Flanagan’s Bride ★★★☆☆
Ah to love a monster… well, I’m not sure Joe Flanagan did. I think he saw a lovely body and counted himself lucky. I do believe he was loved.
Frankenstein’s Daughter by Theodora Goss ★★★★☆ She looked at me with astonishment, then burst out laughing. “You take care of me? You cannot even take care of yourself.”
Told mostly by an old friend of Victor Frankenstein, this nonetheless has feel of The Athena Club about it.
The Making of Asylum Ophelia by Mercedes M. Yardley ★★★★☆ A life of enforcement fairytales, solitude, and madness verses a life of Walmart - “Ophelia. Help.”
Umbra Sum by Kristi DeMeester ★★★☆☆ I’m not sure if they were all ghosts or if none of them were ghosts. How remarkably strange!
Resurrection Points by Usman T. Malik ★★★☆☆ “There are no sides. Only live and hate.”
In a city being torn apart by religious hatred a boy discovers he can create zombies. Not sure where this was going, it ended without a cause.
