Also on the slow boat lately…Grover: Case #C09 920, The Most Dangerous Blend - I enjoyed this more the second time around. It also helped to cast Mary & Marshal from In Plain Site as Ishani and Ali. They matched perfectly for personalities if not looks!
You’re right about the tobacco Fiona, they should have mentioned a substitute.

Criminal Minds: Sociopaths, Serial Killers, and Other Deviants
There have been two spin offs, neither survived infancy. When you get to The Fight you will see their first try. Oh, and there was a Korean version and three books too!
Terrifying barbarians, cunning mages, and daring heroes run rampant through these exceptional examples of the exciting sword and sorcery genre. This essential, fast-paced anthology is a chronological gathering of influential, inventive, and entertaining fantasy—sure to appeal to action-oriented fans.
I’m nearing the end of season five and even Strauss The Stubborn has grown on me. Yes, I still miss Gideon, but it’s understandable. I do not miss Elle. I bawled at the end of 100 even though I had seen it years before. The Fight was the only pimple and it made me sad that Criminal Minds never managed to have shiny babies the way CSI and NCIS did.
This is a great time to have remade The Man Who Fell to Earth in a family friendly way: https://youtu.be/cxVbpFk-M3kThe first movie was unwatchable, but I say that because we picked it up for SciFi family movie night. No no no no no no no no
Which character is your favorite? I’m partial to Reid and Emily but Hotchner’s understated Alpha male no-blinking thing has its appeal ;)
As I binge watch Criminal Minds I decided to read/reread some of the non-serial-killer books mentioned in the series:The Dead: A short story by James Joyce
Mother Night
Slaughterhouse-Five
The Catcher in the Rye
The Parlement of Foulys
The Illustrated Man
The Narrative of John Smith
New Siberia - the first time around my focus was on the ethical revision of manifest destiny and those snakes! This time around I found the value of human radiance charming. It’s usually calorically wasteful, and not under our control, but on an alien world it’s practically magic!
Elvis: https://youtu.be/vzNTHEXlw3oThey could have done better on the face but the voice is darn close and they seem to be using the actual singing voice, which I prefer over the actors trying to sing.
I loved the airship too, it’s what devoured my attention the first time around. In lieu of the email Fiona & Canavan - our theme for April is Sword & Sorcery! Please send me suggestions before the 15th!
Midsummer Night’s Heist - skipThe Heavenly Dreams of Mechanical Trees - this story of mechanical thinking trees giving their last of their strength to bring back real trees still has me in the edge of tears.
A Field of Sapphires and Sunshine - I’ve never had crocodile meat and I don’t think I could bring myself to eat something that had been fed human meat. Even if the pathology is fine, and hey ‘circle of life’, I would take the other option. Please let there always be another option.
