When Irish eyes are dying
Breath chills till time is over,
Death pulls slowly graveward
To rest ’neath sod and clover…
In Irish Gothic: Tales of Celtic Horror, Ronald Kelly returns to the land of his ancestry and explores the dark superstition and frightful folklore of Ol’ Éire. Seven stories of Celtic gothic terror… tales to quicken the beat of the heart and chill one’s bones to the very marrow.

I can imagine them being shafted by the bigger cities, I can imagine them rebelling, but I can’t imagine them winning. Still, it’s a nice idea and I like how the main character regrouped from failure to make a lasting difference.
“Unearned.” I felt a knee jerk agreement, but then not. It’s just a quick emotional will-they/won’t-they open ended ending.
Caught Root - I think the readership prefers New-Ur but I think it could only benefit from cooperation with Hillside. The Spider and the Stars - this us still staggeringly good and it shames me that I still have not read more DK Mok. The first time I read this book I immediately looked up cricket flour - I wanted to make cricket scallion pancakes. I didn’t because the flour was so expensive and, unfortunately, that has not changed: https://smile.amazon.com/Cricket-Flou...
Only five hours is Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, the rest is the last Karla story that I will not be watching yet.
I bought a physical copy too, it’s lovely! I will dipping back into this gem tonight. The benefits of reading it again are skipping the two star stories, lol.
Here is the ten hour series: https://youtu.be/2Ld2X0FvypwI’m on hour two and it’s almost a xerox of the book, for better and worse. The actors have a bland unattractive sameness. My Smiley was less toad than old scare crow.
Smiley: Frederick Weller
Anne: Rachel Weisz
Guillame: Matthew Goode
Ricki Tarr: Danny Dyer
Lacon: Ben Daniels
Toby Esterhase: Aiden Guillen
Percy Alleline: Gerard Butler
Bill Hayden: Timothy Dalton
Control: Richard Harris (well, Dumbledore)
Ooh, I never saw In the Heat of the Night, now it’s a must. I just finished Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and I want to watch both adaptations.
I often lose the fight for UK programming for those reasons. I’ve been told about VPN dark web etc but I tried that once and it was one click to rhino horn, massive guns, and kiddy porn. Dark Wikki is an evil thing.
Loved The 355! And I have never seen Spider-Man or gotten COVID. Coincidence?!?!
Don’t get COVID, go see The 355!
