I’m maybe 20% into Fathomless and so far it’s my favorite! Billionaire funded submarine adventure into a secret ocean in search of dangerous knowledge. There are enemies looking to kill the billionaire, because Russians be Russians, and a sexy ex-boyfriend marine biologist shark expert. Oh yes, I am enjoying myself!

Just when the book started to pick up… Epilogue. What!?!?
Very little action. I think I’ll try Fathomless next.

I see it, the water is clear ;)

Pip raised her hand in goodbye, unbeknownst to her that she would never see any of them ever again.

And then there was hope of blood in the water!

About 75% in, they haven’t even gotten in the water yet. Needless to say, everyone is still alive and chatty.

I’m halfway through Merfolk. I’m wishing Rad hadn’t come along. I like her in general, but the little relationship spats are tacking away from the story. He should have just let the “capable” ladies loose on the island, “Be back by 7 or find another ride.” Lol, I’m just annoyed at the island time when I want to get into water mayhem.

Thank you Marie! I’m about 20% into Merfolk and we are getting to know the Mer Doc and his ladies.

Holy cow, it’s like the man read my thoughts! The prologue fixed everything! Now I have to erase the review I started last night, lol. Well, while I rethink that with a smile I have downloaded Merfolk to start right now.

Undertow by Karl Edward Wagner ★★★★½
Oh friends, a full short story: beginning, middle, and oh-shit ending. We start with stereotypes and bloom into layered, desperate, characters. This is my favorite “green ribbon” story.

I stopped at the epilogue for the day. I was pissed, lol. The only character I cared about didn’t make it and there was no sexy time, diverse it otherwise.

My only complaint is it’s not Tidelands season two.

Not a race, it is a frightful entertaining journey of sea loving friends.
