Sea-Hearts by Margo Lanagan ★☆☆☆☆ DNFI stopped at drowning newborn baby girls tied to crosses.
The Drowned Mermaid by Christopher Barzak ★☆☆☆☆
A mother driven mad by her lost junkie daughter tortures a mermaid. This sucked.
Go see Maverick! I loved it, all hail Tom Cruise! Also, I got to see that Mission Impossible trailer on the big screen and decided I didn’t care that James Bond was dead.
Driftglass by Samuel Delany ★★☆☆☆ DNFWhile the concept of migrating into the ocean due to climate change was interesting the story was not. Pages and Pages of boredom before I DNF’d.
The Sea Change by Neil Gaimen Skipped
Miss Carstairs and the Merman by Delia Sherman ★★☆☆☆
A Victorian lady scientist drags a beached merman into her conservatory for study. It could have been fascinating, and sexy, but it was painfully boring.
Oooh, I need to rewatch Robocop. J, other than the soundtrack which continues to kill it, I was also put off by the new Thor. The investment in camera work to make Portman look “epic” is likely more than the new She-Hulk. The storyline holds no interest for me.

When it first aired in 1959, The Twilight Zone was nothing less than groundbreaking television. Freed from much of the censors' strict oversight because of the show's classification as "science fiction," the 156 filmed episodes explored powerful and moving human themes—love, hate, pride, jealousy, terror—in their own unique style. This anthology will be an all-new collection of stories written in the vein of the original television show. Edited and featured and introduction by Carol Serling, the anthology will include brand new stories by science fiction and fantasy luminaries such as Whitley Strieber, Loren D. Estleman, Joe Lansdale, R. L. Stein, Timothy Zahn, and Peter S. Beagle, as well as writers from the original series, Earl Hammer and Harlan Ellison®, all in honor of Rod's incredible vision
Path of the Dragon by George R. R. Martin (Skip)”Daenerys Targaryen was as happy as she could ever remember being.”
That was in the first paragraph and I decided to leave it there. Dae deserves to be happy.
The Year of the Three Monarchs by Michael Swanwick ★★½☆☆
Three people seek to rule the land and armies of The Floating City with similar results.
That was Point Break glory. I could feel the Swayze! Also, I’ve never seen someone end a run by slipping behind a wave.
Chris Evans as a big budget baddie coming to Netflix: https://youtu.be/EypRJD2nqakWatch your facial hair people, that’s all it takes to go from hero to creep, lol.
And now let’s all bow our heads for a moment of silence in honor of how effing good the new Mission Impossible looks: https://youtu.be/9Yfn2XBGC2E
