Ya. I keep forgetting which books I am supposed to buddy read and just looking at the pub dates and choosing the next one up if its audio because I get afraid of losing them, lol

Enjoy the book and the wait!"
Thanks Vicki! The wait is not fun. lol. But I'd rather wait as long as I can than do the Pitocin. I read up a lot about it th..."Pitocin is awful! Good for you!

I have The Fury. I just started it I am not sure how I feel about it yet. I didn't read The Silent Patient, but I did like The Maidens. So I guess I will see!

(view spoiler)[that he may have been lying about the $10,000! I could totally see him doing that. (hide spoiler)]

I ended up finishing today. I rated it the same as Marnie 3.5 rounded up.
(view spoiler)[I kind of figured that Daphne had more to do with it than the other sisters - partly because they didn't leave too many hints about her. I liked how she ended up framing - I forget his name - Hadley? - that was a good twist. Nathan was lame so I was glad Emma was rid of him. I can't believe he was plotting with his mistress to get Emma's part of the proceeds from selling the house. Also he was just a creep the way he made her do "trust" things where he got do snoop through her phone and computer while he was messing around. (hide spoiler)]

I am at 41%. I have the audio and the NG app is horrible about chapters so I have no idea what chapter that is. I agree with you Marnie that
(view spoiler)[Nathan seems shady. And when one of the sisters (Juliette I think?) mentioned selling the house he was all about it immediately.
So far it seems that everyone has been keeping secrets but Daphne and Juliette seem worried about what might be found in the house. I tend to think that Emma was not responsible for her parents' deaths. I look forward to finding out who was! (hide spoiler)]

I am also hoping to start tomorrow
Elyse wrote: "I finished it last night. Bombs. Were. Dropped! It went where I was not expecting! [spoilers removed] I'm now in the Libby queue for All the Dangerous Things. I have read and didn't love A Flicker ..."Yes! To all those surprises! The ending of this book was filled with shocks! I really loved this one!

I am up to 70% now - I just finished ch 48.
(view spoiler)[So Lucy isn't even a student and she orchestrated Trevor and Nicole's relationship so they could live in the house. I wonder if she made a deal with the frat boys to bring good looking coeds to the house in exchange for a place to live. Whatever her plan is regarding Levi, she hasn't shared it with anyone else by Christmas time. Margot saw her kissing Levi but Lucy doesn't mention it. Nicole is looking worse and worse. I'm good with late January

I got to 30% today. So far I am liking the atmosphere and the pacing.
(view spoiler)[I think that the story is capturing well the feel of being on your own for the first time and being swept up in someone's orbit. I can't wait to find out what happened to Eliza and how Levi was involved. So far we know that Levi is dead and that Lucy has been questioned about it and that the girls had hatched some plan. Looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds! (hide spoiler)]

I stayed up as late as I could manage last night because I didn't want to put it down for this last part of the book, but sleep demanded to be had by 1:00 when I was at 97% so I had to finish this morning. I ended up giving the book 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5)
(view spoiler)[It was so hard to watch Frankie give herself all over again to Rye just to be fully betrayed again. I have been there where you just can't tell your heart not to ditch the guy and keep giving chances they don't deserve.
When Frankie had her last breakdown I was glad that Hannah didn't make frankie and Henry get back together again. I loved that he was there to support her but had moved on and found himself a loving wife.
I loved that Frankie finally found the strength to branch out on her own and I love that she used her ranch to help other women who were struggling with the same issues that she was. I also really liked that romantic love didn't save Frankie - love definitely got her through even if she didn't always realize the forms of love that different people were showing her - especially her father. But I really liked the message that Frankie didn't need a man to make her whole.
The scene at the Memorial wall where her dad finally acknowledges her service made me tear up, but I also liked that she had reconciled in herself that she may never get that recognition that she craved from her father and that she needed to live her life regardless - so it was nice when the recognition did come right there at the Wall.
Now here's my complaint at the end - I didn't like that "surprise! Jaime didn't die either!" bit. I know that there were obviously quite a few men who went missing in action and were presumed dead who were POWs and eventually returned, but I feel like she already used that device once in this book so it wasn't as powerful the second time around. I liked that she ended the book with just the possibility though and didn't wrap up a Jaime/Frankie relationship like a nice present for us at the end.
The absolute best thing about this book though was the rock solid relationship between Barb, Ethel and Frankie. I love that they were always there for each other no matter what. (hide spoiler)]

I can't say much because I don't have my laptop in me right now and can't out spoiler tags but I just finished ch 28 and what an ending!

"I just requested! *fingers crossed!*

I am off work the first week of January so I that would be a good start time for me

I just finished ch 18. It is a bit weird reading this book because the other book I am reading right now is
Love, Janis and it is such a contrast to be going back and forth between Haight-Ashbury and Vietnam!
(view spoiler)[So Frankie is home now. It doesn't make sense to me how poorly those returning from Vietnam were treated. I understand being against the war, but take it to those in charge not those who suffered over there just trying to stay alive. It made me sad when Frankie handed her dad her photo for the hero wall - I don't think he will put it up.
I thought it was sweet how Rye flew over to see her when she was so upset after the napalm attack. I hope that he survives his next 27days, but I am afraid he won't. They already foreshadowed it with the "I am afraid I will love you until I die." bit (hide spoiler)]
