(view spoiler)[This is the part that made me think this would be a good show. The juxtaposition of the horrific killing with the comedy of errors that followed was fun to read. I love that the devil dog is just sort of living with her now, lol. I love when she lets the dog into her bed. Cor is in quite the mess! Too bad she didn't get a pic of Simon on his date. That would soften the blow a bit for Diane. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't realize this was a buddy read! I just started this one my own. I am only through 8. I am liking it so far.
(view spoiler)[I wonder what is up with the "smoke" she sees in their eyes? She seems to have a pretty hard and fast rule about it. (hide spoiler)]

I finished. Overall I enjoyed it. I think 3.5 stars for this one. I usually round up.
(view spoiler)[So my Harriet hunch was correct - but went way deeper than I suspected with the tracking devices and such. What a crazy person! (hide spoiler)]

I am at 69%
(view spoiler)[ I think it is sketchy that she is considering pushing Rose to see if she is a killer. That seems beyond what her job should warrant or allow.
I have been wondering if there is a supernatural element to this story, but that isn't in any of the tags. It just seems that Rose isn't a 9 year old girl in too many respects. (hide spoiler)]Back to the book! I hope I finish today.

(view spoiler)[Charles being suspicious. I a listening to the book right now and I was just thinking the same thing.
Also, I agree about the MC. Right now in the book where I am at 69% she is considering some shady stuff (hide spoiler)]

I read through ch 23 (34%) last night.
(view spoiler)[The book seems to be pointing to Rose as the killer, but that means it is probably not her. Her collection of sharp things is weird though and she has been kicked out of two schools already. I am wondering if it is Harriet and maybe her knee isn't as bad off as we think? (hide spoiler)]

I got through ch 8 yesterday (11%) and I am planning to go read some more right now. So far I am liking it!
(view spoiler)[So I am already getting creeper vibes from Rose. Something weird is going on that there is no glass in the house and she is sneaking shards of glass - that ain't normal. And the nanny going out the window gives me Omen vibes "This is for you Damian!" Btw, I watched that movie for the first time when I was preggers with my daughter and I had to sleep with the lights on that night, lol! Anyway, I am curious what happened to the nanny. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished - wow! That was some of the most intense reading I have done in a while!
(view spoiler)[I loved how the fact that we don't know how Maria's time in the basement went helped to keep the secret that Nina's dad did not design the house to be a murder game. What a twisted premise! And of course the true higher-ups were free to keep doing what they are doing. I was glad that Oksana let Nina be because I am sure that she could have had her hunted down and killed if she really wanted to. I actually could have done without the reunion bit - I would have been fine leaving them with the police coming in their helicopter (though I would have wanted to know if Joe was still breathing) and then had the epilogue. But this has been one of the most fun thrillers i have read in a while (hide spoiler)]

I am at 23% right now. I am still planning to read more this evening, but I had to stop by and leave some thoughts
(view spoiler)[Seriously what is wrong with Maria!? Why would she go in there and press the button regardless of the electrician doing it? She doublechecked and it was reaffirmed that she was not to go into the room. This is the easiest money in the world to make! All she had to do was sit around and enjoy an awesome solo Caribbean vacation and be paid for it and now she is trapped!
I am really curious to see where Nina's story is going! How odd for her to be grieving and then have this craziness dropped on her! (hide spoiler)]Now back to the book!

I have this one as well. I can start it but I just started another book yesterday too so I will be a bit slower with reading

I agree entirely with your review!

I finished today. Overall I enjoyed the book.
(view spoiler)[One thing that kind of bugged me was how they talk about Misty Copeland writing a book about other Black dancers and had never heard of DTH or Abarca or any of them? I looked it up and DTH is even still operating. And the book specifically cites websites that have archived much of this history of the dancers at DTH. So how did Misty Copeland research for her book and completely miss all of them? Also the part of the book where the original DTH dancers go to Mitchell's funeral and head up to their reserved pew and there was no room for them really chapped my hide!
