I teach kindergarten and so I really loved the scene where Lucy was talking about having to dress like a grown-up and taking out the pigtails that the kids love when she was going to meet with child services. I dress up for kindergarten all the time and then sometimes find myself having to do an errand on the way home and having to go into stores like with a butterfly face tattoo or a bat dress and wings lol!

It's so messed up that Apple makes their devices unusable just because of their software!

ya my birthday is next week so I just asked for a kindle fire for e-reading.

I think I am going to have to bring my work iPad home to read this. My at home iPad is too old to add apps to anymore and my 46 year old eyes can't read ebooks on my phone anymore. I hate Apple. I was still using my like 15 year old kindle until I lost it. My iPad is in fine condition - even battery - but because it won't update past iOS 12something nothing will work on it anymore

I got it! So glad I get to join you!

I requested this book so *fingers crossed*

I am excited I just got approved for
Atalanta. I LOVE mythological retellings and I gave
Ariadne five stars and
Elektra four stars from this author.

(view spoiler)[At this point I think it might be Bianca's uncle. She obviously killed the girl who replaced her and her uncle Nick is a "fixer". Perhaps he disposes of her "Wonderland Boys" when she is done with them. (hide spoiler)]Finished
(view spoiler)[Well I didn't see that coming! Especially that Nick Bishop is still alive! (hide spoiler)]I enjoyed this one a lot! The writing was engaging. I liked the twists and I would read more of her books!

I was so happy to be granted this request so I could join you guys!

I am through ch 10 (21%) Like you Kristie I was just introduced to the characters as they came up because I didn't read the blurb. I just requested the book because y'all were reading it. I really liked the opening chapters. The descriptions drew me right in - immediately I thought that she nailed teenage boy-ness. I was reeled in from the first. So far I think the pacing is good too, She is introducing characters at a good pace and leaving mysterious crumbs that I want to know more about.
(view spoiler)[You're right that Bianca is icky. I wonder where Blake is right now and he must not have fallen from the top of the wheel. (hide spoiler)]So far so good!

So, I have a couple questions being new to this and all.
1. The last 2 reviews I have done on NG wouldn't post to GR because it said that the ISBN was not found. I posted them on GR anyway by copying - but will NG get mad thinking I am not sharing on my social sites?
2. The last book I listened to I put a bookmark because there was a quote I wanted to use, but when I went back to check the bookmark it first of all put to the beginning of a chapter not a specific point - but then the chapter didn't even contain the quote. has anyone used the bookmark function for audiobooks on the shelf app and is that typical?
Thanks in advance as I try to figure this out!

I was also unable to access my shelf. I kept thinking I must have done something horrible! How did I get forbidden? But I finally got in :)

Yay! I got one! I will be joining you for this one :)

I just finished
I loved this book! It was much deeper than I expected it to be and about humanity more broadly than specifically about refugees. Here is my review

I agree about The Angel Maker. It was confusing at first but once I got into the groove I enjoyed it.
Thanks for the read now tip! I'll try that!

I also thought maybe audio books would be harder to get but I have been approved for my audio asks but not for any of my ebook asks (adult not children's books)

I am still a baby NGer :) I have only reviewed 1 adult book so far -
The Angel Maker and I am about 2/3 done with
Who Gets Believed?: When the Truth Isn't Enough. I enjoyed the Alex North book a lot, but the Who gets Believed book is really burrowing into my brain. It's one I will recommend to friends.
Most of my reviews for NG have been children's books because I am a kindergarten teacher. Can you create different Net Galley accounts? So I can have one for me books and one for work books? Is that why I have been denied books?
