Is this what your wooden model looks like? I was at Walmart this morning and browsing through the art aisle, and I saw this and thought of your post here. xD

I wouldn't mind being Nelly (but as a guy--so many Nelson) because she (but with me as a he) grew up in New York City :D

As you said, decent poses are hard to come by... >.>

Thanks! I use a 3d program called Poser for human body references. x3 If I don't have a reference, all my drawings are of people just standing straight with their arms at their sides. lol
I noticed the manga style--I thought maybe you started out doing manga and then transitioned into more realism. I gave up on trying to make backgrounds... haha xD I just like to draw for character visuals. x3

I like drawing when I don't feel like writing. :3
I drew this yesterday and this today ;3

Can those waterproof notepads handle getting sprayed by the shower? I guess I don't have do hold it under the faucet. xD
The last lightbulb moment I had was when I was trying to fall asleep last night. Sleeping in a dorm with a roommate who sometimes likes to stay up with his lamp on until 1 or 2 a.m. doesn't help, but I've gotten some thoughts. I grabbed a notepad from my desk and used my cell phone to shine light on it to write the thought. It was just something I can add to what I'm editing right now. :3

I didn't know you did hard copy edits. :3 It gives your eyeballs a break from screens. TV, computer, iPod, DS---off.. it's good to get a break from screens lol

It's always thrilling when someone else draws your characters. :3
My artwork and books/stories have always coincided. I made up a character through drawing over 5 years ago who started as a drawing and became a novel character. :3

@Dawn - Is there a way to add more 'fun-like' scenes? Or maybe what you've written can be tweaked.. Maybe think what sort of elements made them 'fun' to you and apply them to new concepts to further the story. 8D
@Nicole - I love complete a-hole characters xD Much of my dialogue contains sarcasm, and how my parents talk to teach other influenced how my protagonist and her boyfriend talk. lol

@Adam - Is there Greek involvement in your story?
@G.G. - Your titles are very, very pithy descriptions of your novels' content. :3 Yes, the ribbon is red. I learned the word "scarlet" from the scarlet thread that's around the voodoo-ish dolls' necks in the anime Hell Girl. x3
@JD - I have to say that dreams have never affect my writing--at least consciously. That's an interesting way you came up with a story. :3 You'll have to include it in an author afterward or something in your story.

It refers to the red ribbon my character Scarlet wears constantly around her arm as an accessory. :3

@Steven - The dining room in my house was my primary spot for a while, but my dogs are distracting. xD
@Mary - Quietness is an absolute must for me, too--for writing, but with editing, I can have more noise.
@Bitten Jewels - People are my top distraction. lol
@Steven -

I wrote this in the summer of 2011.
I just enjoyed writing those 30,000 words because I enjoy 'background' events. Through this I learned Briannah had an abusive boyfriend named Chett whom she shoots to death. 8D
But I scrapped all of this... I'll salvage some bits and pieces. xD

So after seeing that, I more strongly believe we've had some kind of contact...

@Kandie - Having realistic photos to represent characters can boost motivation a bit. :3 I can picture this man bleeding on a bed who has a real face, instead of a phantom I see in my head.

@Bitten Jewels - I was working on a paper in a study area in my favorite building on campus (has huge windows so plenty of daylight which I love) and I overheard some girls working on lesson plans for an education class they're taking. It seemed like it was taking a while for them to write them. xD I'll probably take that class next semester. :3

My brother and I used to conflict when we were younger, but as you said, we get along pretty well now that we're older. :3

Your characters just popped out of your book, passed through your monitor, or climbed out of your notebook.
Would you get along with your characters? Would they like you? If you'd ask one of them out on a date, would (s)he say yes or no? And when you receive an answer, what would the nonverbal communication included? Would she laugh at you? Would he feel guilty about saying no?
Basically, what would it be like if your characters met you in real life?
:3
