I'm reading Dear Life too.

Yep, I would impose a book buying ban but I know I would never stick to it ;)
I have another addition to my library but this one was a leaving gift from one of my collegues
A Cruel Bird Came to the Nest and Looked In by Magnus Mills

No probs ;)
I really need to make an effort with my TBR pile next year!

Depends on it's availability - I get a lot of mine from the library anyway.

Here's the latest couple of instalments from my Mount TBR thread (I forgot to post them here) - hope it makes you feel a bit better:
Alice Munro - Dear Life: Stories
C J Sansom - Dominion
Agatha Christie - Murder on the Links
Agatha Christie - The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
Patrick Rothfuss - The Name of the Wind
Brandon Sanderson - The Well of Ascension
Simon Kurt Unsworth - Quiet Houses
Tim Travers - Pirates: A History
Catharine Arnold - Necropolis: London and Its Dead
Ariana Klepac - The Whales Companion

124. To the Lighthouse - Virginia Woolf
125. Effi Briest - Theodore Fontane

Just finished
Good To Be God, was quite good actually, funny in places about a really unlucky bloke who decides to move to Miami and convince people he is the supreme being in an attempt to finally make it.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten - how about Feb then?

Thanks Maureen - good to see you again!
Congratulations Ellie!!!!!!!

Looks like Hogfather is in the lead at the moment.... but still time to vote if you haven't yet!

Off to York today for the St Nicholas Christmas Fayre!! Very excited. I take my parents every year and we all love going so much - it's one of the first holidays we put in to all our respective workplaces to make sure we are all off work ;)

Yeah I thought maybe Jan, and I think Ellie wanted to read this one as well but was having a bit trouble getting hold of a copy

Yeah I have this tendency to cry when things get killed - I know its like nature, circle of life and all that but it's still heartbreaking to watch!

I bought myself a copy of
A Tale for the Time Being the other day as it was only £4.63 on the kindle (weird price I know) and I felt like a treat - are we up for reading this one, maybe December or jan sometime???

Awww so cute! But I'm a bit worried about what's happened to him....

Hee Hee - I haven't read any of them but the titles make me laugh at least!
I thought the ending was a bit rushed as well -
(view spoiler)[ spends ages discussing Marianne's disappointment in Willoughby and then marries her off to Brandon in a few lines! Maybe even Austen thought it wasn't that believable and just wanted to quickly tie up the loose ends? (hide spoiler)]

I've got this in my complete Poe collection but haven't got round to it yet though - good to see some Poe on the list though!

Oh dear - one to avoid then!
I started reading
The Gift of Rain by Tan Twan Eng on my kindle earlier and it is beautifully written. Lovely so far...
