I'm almost finished The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes which, it goes without saying, it absolutely awesome. I'm also reading Rebecca West's The Fountain Overflows which I'm finding a bit difficult to get into but I'm going to persevere for a bit longer to see if it picks up.
CS Lewis's Narnia Chronicles, Treasure Island (I wanted to be a pirate for a long time after that one)and then The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I also had this book of Fairy Tales which was beautifully illustrated - I can remember spending ages just looking at the pictures - but have got no idea what edition it was and have never been able to find it again.
Hope you like her Ellie - I loved both Rebecca and Jamaica Inn so would definitely recommend either of those to you!Lee - does the monthly author come from the random generator thingy as well?
That would be amazing wouldn't it? I'm definitely having a room dedicated just to books when I buy my own house
Everytime I organise my books it doesn't last long cos I end up buying more! Have run out of shelf space and am having to use the floor now - everyone in my house calls my room 'the library'. I try to do it thematically if I can but cos of the lack of space it doesn't really work.
I was thinking maybe that one too - would like to read The Magic Mountain but it might be a bit too big!
I've only read Never Let Me Go by him before - a lot of people have said they hated it but I thought it was quite good. He is very clever anyway, so The Unconsoled will be interesting if nothing else.
I need to raid the library as am a bit skint - will definitely be participating in all the groups reads - just a bit of a slow start! :)
Great list Lee, you've made a good start already. Have you just decided to do this or have you been doing 'the list' for a while?
