I've been putting off starting this as remember being a bit bored by it the first time round, but it's ok so far - will see how we go!
Ok I don't think we use this thread enough so I'm going to have a little reminisce about T in the Park festival and share Paloma Faith singing Picking up the Pieces:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyoU25...
Thanks! Lol Lee - how did you know they were my fav kind of customers? Ideally a coffee shop full of gorgeous blokes and not a screaming kid in sight!
What's Borgen about?? Any good?I've just finished watching the Firefly boxed set for the 3rd time and then discovered The Walking Dead on Lovefilm - have watched a couple of episodes and really enjoying it so far! Did anyone else watch it?
Ok wish me luck guys- have got a job interview tomorrow for a coffee shop which I'm hoping is going to be better hours than the restaurant!
I've just finished a book by Alice Munro which had some good stories in:Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage: Stories and now I'm trying to get a bit of Mason and Dixon read, and also reading Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher.
Oh dear, I think I'm just a bit lost off, am planning to read a bit more today and see if it starts making sense (as much as it ever does) again.
I'm two chapters in to Part Two.... and not a lot has happened. But at least I have got back to it and hopefully once I read a bit more I will get back into it. LETS DO THIS!!!!
Hilary wrote: "I really enjoyed that one Laurel! I even recommended it to a few people."Must just be me then - something about the writing really jarred but it could have been the translation. Glad you enjoyed it anyway, I liked the idea, it was funny, I just kept getting put off the story by the writing.
The Snow Child and The Orphan Master's Son were good, and The Fault in our Stars was ok but I really don't get the enthusiasm for The Hundred Year Old Man who climbed out of a Window an Disappeared - that was either really badly written or really badly translated!
His Lady, and 'my Lord', are his boss and boss's wife - they are Lord and Lady somebody or other I think but I forget who; he usually just refers to Mrs Pepys as 'my wife' I think - it threw me at first too!
Don't worry Tracey - I'm not really sure what it means either - I loved the images and the words though ;)
Well we could probably just use the 2nd half thread - I'm just about to start part 2 (I read part one all at once then put it down to read other stuff and didn't get back to it yet so am going to start once I finish Let the Right One In which is almost done).@ Hilary - I want to keep going for a bit cos I was actually enjoying it before I put it to one side - will see how part two goes.
