110415 Especially when you think that Victoria lived until 1901!

Yeah I started this well but was just doing training on the coffee machine etc but today was my first full shift! I mean really, on a Saturday in the metro centre, this close to Christmas? They didn't even let me get my armbands before they chucked me in the deep end lol! am really enjoying it though, thanks :)

110415 Love it, I found it quite spooky towards the end as well!
110415 Don't be too hard on yourself - it really isn't an easy read - when I did the first two Books I had a really good teacher who explained it all to us and as much as I'd like to, I still haven't read the rest of it 13 years later ;)
110415 Awwwww - good luck Hilary! (you are going to need it ;))

110415 Love it! and the Muppet Christmas Carol as well!
110415 I've been putting the Christmas decorations up! Feeling very festive too now although I'll be working the rest of the weekend :) Lucky you guys getting Friday afternoon off!

110415 I finally managed to finish Dear Life as well - I love Munro's writing - her telling details and significant but everyday/mundane incidents that tell you so much about a character without her ever having to describe them. I gave it 3 stars, possibly 4 if I ever read again but at the moment I'm not really in the mood for this kind if thing. The only thing I would say is that I never really connect with the characters, I am interested but don't feel anything for them - is that just me or does anyone else have a similar experience?
110415 Yeah, I started reading the 2nd Mistborn book (The Well of Ascension) and am finding it much easier as it's fantasy written in an almost young adult style. Then I might start Hogfather later when I've put the tree up cos will be feeling very festive and Discworld is an old friend!

110415 Yay A Christmas Carol!!! Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Mr D, I try and read this every year and I know I'm not the only one, plus there's all the film versions - but you never get sick of it - man was a genius!
110415 We did Books 1 and 2 for A level and I always meant to read the rest but haven't yet. I do like it, very epic!
110415 Thanks guys - it's not that I'm not enjoying them, I just can't seem to concentrate - am going to try reading some nice easy books for a while like maybe the rest of the Mistborn books and the Hogfather till my brain decides to work again ;)
110415 I'm really having trouble concentrating at the moment - seems to be taking me forever to finish a book (and I mean normal books, not like Mason & Dixon books). The only one I have read at anything like my usual speed lately was The Dark is Rising and that was cos it was a kids book - what do you guys do when you hit a reading block???

110415 Yeah, I would never have thought of that either, it's a bit crazy and bless him having to sell all his stuff!
110415 Yeah we should be able to 'like' it!
Although it does say somewhere how many views a post has had...

110415 I was listening to Blue Christmas just before funnily enough, and the Sinatra one is pretty cool too!
110415 Don't worry Hilary - we weren't bring funny - just letting you and Lee know that you're efforts are appreciated even if we don't always comment :)
