Oh,I can totally understand that, since I often have to check my Amazon reviews to refresh my memory, and I also find my Kindle easier to hold than a book that keeps closing on me.
Hi Jeanie,WELCOME to the group. It would be great if you would add the Mary Stewart titles that you've read with your review to our bookshelves. You too, Dorcas,as I've never read her and I'm sure lots of lurkers would be interested also. :]
Hi Dorcas,it sounds like a Regency version of The Help, which could be really interesting, and has good ratings.Let us know if you try it.
I have always been fascinated by dragons and love movies with them. Then I discovered the YA Dragon Chronicles series of books by Chris d'Lacey and the synosis sounded great so I got the first two books and had a blast reading them.If you haven't read them yet you should give them a try.I've only read the first two so far.
The Fire Within (The Last Dragon Chronicles#1)

Icefire (The Last Dragon Chronicles#2)

Share the titles of the books you love for chills, thrills, and creepiness,as long as they fit the 'clean' guidelines. :)One that really creeped me out was
My other favs seem to all be YA!
Tonight I will be starting Second Sight:A Novel by David Williams http://www.amazon.com/Second-Sight-eb...
I just finished Expat Alien. I found it Fascinating reading her experiences with other cultures and the historical events through the decades, from the 50's to mid 2000's.
Ok that sounds good. BTW, did you notice First Impressions (Austen Series, #1) that I just added to our bookshelf?
Hi everyone, just a friendly reminder to be sure to add your books[read, currently reading, and want to read] to the bookshelf to help others find these type of books. Top right corner is where you access the bookshelf.BTW,this folder is where you can add your new topics that you can't find a folder for, questions,or just general chat.Just click on 'new topic' [right across from 'Discussion Board'] on the home page to start your own thread. :]
Being like P&P and You've Got Mail it would have to be fun,and I am really excited about it! Is it as fun as Edenbrooke was?
That's great! I found several last night, but have to check them to make sure they are 'clean reads' before I add them to the bookshelf.
Oh Soph you did such a great job sharing info on these that I feel like a kid turned loose in a candy store with a plenty of money, I don't know where to begin, except I know that I do have 'Pirates and Prejudice' on my list, but A Noteworthy Courtship also sounds irresistable to me[two of my favorite romance films]! Thank you sooo much and please don't forget to add these to our bookshelves! ;)
I could tell that from the book reviews, lol! That's why besides the bad and good reviews plus the book's synopsis helps me decide if the plot sounds interesting to me.Actually that is true of any book.Everyone has different likes/dislikes.
I definitely have favorite movies that I rewatch on Halloween, but since I don't reread many books, usually each Halloween I want to read 'new' scares, lol!Actually,I don't think I've found a better author for writing genuinely creepy ghost stories than the children's/YA author Mary Downing Hahn! I totally loved The Old Willis Place,Wait Till Helen Comes: A Ghost Story and Time for Andrew: A Ghost Story by Mary Downing Hahn ,and I'm in the mood to read some of her others. The Haunting Of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, did nothing for me,but now The Woman In Black was pretty good and so was The Man In The Picture both by Susan Hill.
